i thought you and i were going for the same item torque, the auction ended last night and i got my set for 60 plus 15/16 bucks shipping. im pumped about this set to. i dont mind spending higher prices for these figures because i was in afghanistan when the first wave came out, and im in iraq now so i cant get anything right! so now im spending big bucks for all classics figs. i just preordered the city commander upgrade or whatever it is called. id recommend doing that to (when you have 80 bucks to shell out at ur disposal ) the upgrade looks AMAZING and i really cant wait to get done with this deployment and get these bad boys on my shelf.

 

im actually thinking of buying that thing too-again, if i can get $80 lol. and we may have been after the same item-there were 2 sets, but i bailed when someone went to high, so i got the other one instead lol. but we may have been after the same one-kinda kool actually.

I bought this two pack last year for Skywarp, and didn't really care about Magnus at all. In fact, I planned on selling him right away for 5-8 bucks (that was the going eBay rate for him at the time). However, once I took him out of the package and transformed him, I was really pleased with Magnus. He looks great, despite being a lame-ass character.

I don't think the custom trailer is worth 75 bucks, though. . .

I got the set off e-bay about a year ago as well (wasn't available in Canada) I mainly wanted it for Skywarp, cos from the pictures I had seen the deco of magnus didn't seem too appealing, plus... what's magnus without his trailer!?! But when I got them and opened it up, I was actually VERY pleased with magnus. Even though it was basicly the same as prime aside from the color, I actuall really liked the color scheme. Now I have pre ordered the trailer (which I think is most definitely worth it) and I can't wait for it to show up in September!!! I think the trailer's worth it, cos now Magnus will truely BE magnus and it IS a limited run, so it'll naturally be a little more pricey. I say go for the trailer!

 

I remember a year or so ago when I got my Ultramagnus/Skywarp. They just showed up in Target all on clearance for $15.97. I must of bought 4 or 5 of them along with Prime and Jetfire for $9.97 each, so glad I kept them MISB. Seeing the demand for them now I'm temped to sell my last one for the money, but that trailer is awesome. For the money$$$ I'd rather get encore Omega Supreme to add to my collection than that trailer... damn... second thoughts again.... that trailer is awesome. Good thread guys.

 

It's worth paying Ebay price if you want to collect Classics line, as these two are must have imo.

Anyways, i myself just acquired the set, obviously coz i had the city commander trailer on preorder, and well, coz i prefer the hasbro Skywarp over the upcoming Takara version. After a long time of searching, i got it for a slightly marked up price but it was worth it.

Now to wait for my Takara Thundercracker/Skywarp combo. My source says i have to preorder as a set, but i don't really fancy the Skywarp.
