Was the crossover for the Marvel Ultimate line called Ultimatum supposed to happen after Ultimate Power? Anyone know? THx!
Yes. Ultimate Power takes place before Ultimatum, which should be starting soon and answer some questions about the Ultimate universe.
It doesn't come til after Ultimate Origins, and that starts up soon. Seems Ultimatum has been pushed back a bit. I'm still looking forward to it, as confusing as it is likely to be.
I had heard a rumor that the Ultimate Universe is ending and is going to combine with the 616 ala Crisis on Infinite Earths. Any truth to that?
That would suck. The Ultimate universe is too awesome (I like to pretend that The Ultimates ended with the leaving of Millar and Hitch) to be amalgamated with that clusterfuck.
I've heard that too; but I can't see it happening because despite the suckage of recent stories, the books still sell really, really well. I can't see it ending right after they release Ultimate Origins which is going to explain what Hulk said to Spider-Man back in Ultimate Marvel Team up #2 And Ultimate Spider-Man has stories planned for up to issue 150 last I heard.
Guys, 616 and Ultimate won't combine. The voices in my head tell me so. oh, and a head editor at Marvel does as well ^_^

That rumor about merging has been around pretty much since the Ultimate Universe started. I don't think even Joe Q is that insane.
Cool. I'm looking to drop the Ultimate line after this crossover which is the only reason I'm asking.
Not so according to Jeph Loeb. From what I understand, this whole storyline and culmination was his idea. Ever since Loeb started, his Ultimate works seem like 616 stories. If the continuities merged, it would suck, because then it would render the whole idea of starting fresh, redundant.
