Hmm who else could have Spidey-like powers? Is Eddie Brock still around?

 

Ultimate Eddie is still alive... there's also the possibility that Jessica Drew may take up the mantle... what, she basically IS Peter, just a tad more angsty. And she could just strap down her chest. There's also the clone Kane who is still in SHIELD custody.

 

The Kane clone was killed as I recall. SHIELD had the Scorpion clone in custody.

 

I think they have both. I recall in one of the Ultimate Avengers books they had Kane in full Spider-man uniform in a glass tube.

 

And just to screw with us it could end up being, johnny, bobby, or gwen.

Though I wonder what'll happen when Aunt May finds out about the clones.

They showed his face in Ultimate Avengers vs New Ultimates #5. Still don't get the point of this character, but then again, everything Millar wrote since Ultimatum ended is ridiculous for me.

 

Watch it turn out to be Nick Fury in disguise.

 

Another reason they were polybagged because there was a signed variant mixed in with the regular comics. Something like 200 comics were signed by Bendis.

You don;t have to worry because Millar won't be writing any Mainstream comics anytime soon.

 

There will be a big black guy with no powers playing as spiderman, a little kid spiderman, a cyborg spiderman, and a spiderman that's similar to spiderman but utterly merciless and the real spiderman will be none of those and will come back in a black costume and long hair...

I've been thinking a lot about who will pick up from Peter. Bendis said the new Spider Man will be affected by Peter's death the way Peter was by Uncle Ben's death. So I would think it would have to be someone really close to Peter. I haven't read 160 yet, but I saw the panel of MJ holding Peter in her arms. Could it be MJ?

I'm re-reading the series now. MJ was injected with OZ formula in the Clone Saga and even though Reed helped remove it, there were times where they showed MJ clutching her hand. Maybe she's been slowly gaining enhanced powers as well. Or, perhaps because she loves Peter so much the power of the Spider transfers to her as she's holding him while he passes.

That's one of the thoughts I've been having. I thought about Jessica Drew also, but maybe she's too obvious a choice. I don't know.

 

Speculation abound. I don't think the new Spidey will be a chick- there's a reason it's Spider-Man, after all.

They could always pull a switch also, change her back into a guy, and then take on the Ben Reilly alias, it'd be like the 90s all over again  

 

I haven't read the Ultimate Comics since the Ultimatum stuff, but could it be Johnny Storm? He was Pete's friend and seemed pretty shaken in the leaked pics. They might do something to take away his flame powers and trade it for the spider abilities.

 

Could it all be an elaborate deception by Fury. Send a parker clone into battle against Osborn and have him get killed. All to enroll Peter into fury's ultimates team?

 

Haha...exactly. There's already prior precedence to have a female as "Spider-Man."

And that smacks as kind of sexist to say that because the name is Spider-Man it can't be a girl.

We're all part of the huMAN race, so no reason the Spider-Man has to be a person of the male persuasion. The term 'Man' has been used plenty of times when referring to the entire race.

 

I could see that too. Peter takes Johnny's place in the main marvel universe on FF and vice versa in the Ultimate U.

 

Ok, so I'm re-reading the series and I can't figure out how they arrive at issue 150 being issue 150. The first run ended with 133 and wikipedia says there were 133 issues in that run.

Then with the Ultimate relaunch wikipedia said the first arc of issues 1-6 corresponded as issues 135-140. What happened with #134?

Then another site stated there were 134 issues in the original run. Huh?
