Do you think this guy will shelfwarm as badly as the previous movies supreme class failure (which i did buy but only because walmart made a collosul fail and marked him down to $30)

but im just curious what you guys and gals think will happen here.

as i have passed on him once thinking it might drop in price

I have a feeling he may just because he's a giant butterfly brick with a high price point. I don't think too many parents would be willing to spend the 60-something dollars on that toy.

I think it will be worse. Parents have the option of the $20 voyager without the trailer.

It looks cooler than Devastator by a lot, so you will never know. It IS an Optimus.

Name recognition, cheaper than Devastator, and probably a slightly better toy.

It will still be possible to get it on deep discount....somewhere...but after Devastator, i think, retailers and Hasbro might have learned a few things.

It probably wont be as bad, but i think it will shelfwarm sooner than later and then the price will drop. Here in DC, there was 2 of them on the shelf next to leader BB and there was easily 4-5 voyager Primes. Seems the Voyager is shelfwarming more.

Its funny though, have you seen the prices for Supreme ROF Devastator lately on ebay. He might have been a lousy toy but people are willing to shell out money for him now.

It's also a tough economy and depending on consumer sentiment, I can easily see parents bypassing one $80 toy for a combination of several less expensive toys, esp with Optimus being in practically every size class save Legends and HA.

lol, here in Canada Ultimate Prime is 89.99- only ten dollars less than ROTF Devastator (which I ended up getting on clearance for $50). Hopefully the same will happen with Prime!

I really want to pick up the Ultimate Optimus. The battle cannon mode, Justifys the wings for me not necessarily for flight. But as Energy Shielding or ambient Energon Chargeing the cannon.

Its also a Huge Optimus Prime with the Trailer. Woo!

Devastator, Is a big toy to intimidate the revenge of the fallen Mainline Autobots. But The Alt mode construction vehicles were shotty construction vehicles. The scoop had a big hole in it!

ROTF Devy sold out everywhere here without being clearanced. The same will happen to Prime, only faster. It's Prime we're talking about, not Reverb.

Devastator seemed to be hit and miss. Near me he sold out quick. A Walmart near me had about 30 of them out at one point that I assumed they would shelf-warm like mad, but after Christmas they were all gone. Target also kept selling and restocking. I've read similar reports in other locales. On the other hand, others have the exact opposite story, where he shelf-warmed like a maniac and was marked down 70 to 80 percent.

Prime might be the same way, although given the economics and plethora of other Primes, he might rather be the next Ultimate BB, who is still riding shelves pretty much everywhere from what I've heard.

Devastator made one mistake. If he has individual bot mode, he would be a lot more desired. But as it stands its 1 transformer with a bunch of vehicles ala sky lynx type, and makes it less than desirable.
