    Ebay:
We've had large toys before. We've had expensive toys before. And we've seen them sell really well, or sit on the shelf to the point where stores couldn't give them away.

ROTF Devastator. The big guy. Started at like 100$ and then he was down to about 35$ before people started clearing him out..and now he goes on Ebay for a lot more than that.

Unicron. Some TRU had him at like 60$ at one point, now down to 40$ and still he sits.

Let's not forget Ultimate Bumblebee..either version.

So what fate do you all think Ultimate Optimus will face? At 89.99 he's expensive, and maybe too expensive for some. But do you think his fate is like the other large expensive guys---Will he sit, not sell, and finally go on mass sale exodus, or are people gonna buy this guy up quick and then he's gone.

I'm trying to figure if it's worth spending the 100$ right away, or, wait for him to get down in price.

Think they'll find some way to reissue him too a bit later on?

    Nope.

But if you're reasonably quick, i don't think you'll have much trouble beating the 90.00 comfortably.

Maybe I will get one that comes with a better paint job. I like the gimmicks though.

Theywill have a huge wall of these guys they will think the more they have the more they sell, and they will set untill they wrap them up and send them back to claims.

    Ebay:
He will be stocked like ROTF Devastator, 2 per store at a time. Many of the stores will sell as many as they can at the $90 price point and work their way down from there over time. A few stores might put him on sale right away but thats to get you into the store to purchase other things so its not like they are really giving you a discount unless you only buy whats on sale (because you bought other things at full price) If I were you I would look to buy one in the first two weeks, on sale if you can find one, but don't open it so that it can be returned if you see a monster of a sale within 3 months. I save my boxes and If I wait the stock left is usually beat up. Like a lot of people and considering ROTF Devastator I dont expect each store to sell too many.

Unless you're decent with an airbrush, that's probably gonna be the only paintjob that's on offer.

Based on what we have seen he is clearly a brick in the combined mode but i sweet looking brick. Plus i love the vehicle mode but i want to see him in package in person before deciding for sure.

The exoskeleton with the extra hands and big feet are just too ugly and weird. Hopefully will get to clearance soon. I am a completist for the movie toys but I am seriously considering skipping Ultimate Optimus to save space.

I don't like the way he looks. Too bulky. I have a feeling he will be overstocked before Christmas.

I think Ultimate Optimus Prime will most likely to sit... until they put him on clearance and people might jump at him then.

    Same here.

I'll do what I did for supreme devastator. Buy him on clearance and then sell for double on eBay.

It's a high-price figure. I can't think of one that hasn't warmed shelves, despite popularity. So by nature Ultimate Optimus is going to sit and chill in stores a while, but the demand is there for a movie Optimus with trailer. Some people will buy them off the bat, but they'll disappear the second they go on any amount of clearance.

At least near me, Devastator did not really shelf-warm at all, which was surprising given the obscene amounts of him some stores had. That being said, Ultimate BB shelf warmed. I saw him still priced at 100 bucks the other day--insane!

I could see this Prime going either way. I am leaning towards selling pretty well, though.

I have almost no interest in this guy at all. I don't buy leader or above (at least for movie toys), BUT I'm not made of stone. Significant clearance would cause me to change my mind....
