Found him today at WalMart for $20. He's regularly priced at $40. Either way, he's worth the cash. One great thing about crappy comic book films, they can give us decent toys from time to time. I've heard good things about the smaller figs, but this 12 inch Ghost Rider takes the cake. Dripping with sculpted details, and tons of ML-style articulation, there's almost no way to make this toy look uncool. And those joints are all very stiff, so if you get a good pose - he'll hold it. The bike is just the right size too. He fits perfectly. He won't stay on it if you play with him, but we're too old for that, right? Best thing? NO GIMMICKS OR ACTION FEATURES! Unless you consider being uber-kickass a gimmick. Seriously, this thing is the Chuck Norris of super hero action figures. The only thing I would change is the chain, which is a dull gray plastic. I'd have loved something metallic (or metallic looking), but otherwise, I'd say skip the movie and use the ticket money to buy this bad boy. NICE! He really looks kick ass! I may have to snag one if i can find a good priced one like you. Thanks for the pics!
You're welcome. Hope you checked out the whole gallery. My guess, based on word of mouth, is that Ghost Rider will not do well at the BO, and his toys will start hitting clearance shelves en masse to make room for all the Transformers, Spider-Man and Fantastic Four product schedules to arrive in the coming weeks. Hell, when was the last time you say a $40 movie toy fail to end up in the clearance aisle?
I picked this up just over a week ago but haven't removed it from it's box yet. I'd definitely say it's on par with the legends icons figures in terms of articulation and detailing. The size is the same, and the paint aps are similar in detail. I agree about the chain, and I would have liked to see an artbook along with the figure like the other icons figures, but since it's not technically an icons release, the lack of comic is expected. Still, I'm glad to see such an awsome figure come out of a movie line.
OH SNAP! I just checked your gallery WOW! Its lookin like i will have to grabb one FO SHO! Is the MOVIE questionable because of CAGE tryin to play the part?
that thing rocks... seen it on the shelves but never below retail. Thinking about getting it and the Titanium with him doing a wheelie.
If I find one at clearance for $20 it'll be mine for sure. But I settled for a Chain Attack GR (with interchangeable head) and lights & sound 6" GR w/Bike for now. The movie may suck but I am just happy to get some GR toys out of it.
Cool gallery...now I'm tempted to pick one of these up! LOL! By the way, is the movie enjoyable? I'm thinking of watching it over the weekend!
daymn. ive passed on this piznatch couple'a time, just dont have the space for it the paint app on the bike is for lack of a better word, glorious.
If you want to give that chain some more functionality, a few people over at Fwooshnet pointed out that you can string a length of twist-tie through it, so that it becomes poseable. And we all know that that stuff is plentiful as anything .
Or you could go to any old hardware store and buy a length of real chain for next to nothing. Do you seriously get him AND the bike in the same box?
I have no interest in the film or its toys, but I have to admit that this item does indeed completely kickass. If there was a smaller one I'd get it, but I don't collect 12" figures.
That is amazing! It's obvious the designers put lots of effort into making that! I might just get it. It shows that in the gallery.
For those asking about the movie - I got passes to a screener on Thursday night. I really enjoyed it. I think Nick Cage did a good job with the role.
You can get the 6" GR with bike which has lights and sounds. For the chain get the Chain Attack GR and switch the rider. It's not as detailed as the 12" but still not too bad.
D'oh, I didn't have time to look at the gallery earlier so thanks, I'll look now. Edit: Wow that IS an amazing toy for the money, if I see it here for a good price I will be hard pressed to resist.
I meant that you could string the twistie through the chain to make it poseable, not use the twistie in place of the chain...
