So, you all remember the crazy Ultimate G1 Transformer auction, right? Well, it turns out, that whoever bid on the auction the third time, ACTUALLY paid 50k for it. How do I know this person won? I remember the name, and I checked the feedback.

Here's the link to the items which are now being listed by the winner:

Daaamn. That's a lot of money. I would never spend that much on any one TF. >.>

A couple hundred $ maybe, but anything near $1000 is definitely a no for me.

So lemme get this right....guy probably takes on a loan for 50k...buys just about every TF ever existed, and now is selling them?

This wasnt from that auction with that middle aged woman wanting million dollars from her dead husbands collection to help live a "happy" life with her 20 year old boyfriend was it?

    Yup, the very same.

I still can't believe this person spent 50k for those items and is reselling 'em. There's no way he/shewillmake their money back.

Yeah I think the guy will make his money back even after ebay fees and all that. I say he might get a 20-25% return on it.

He might have made his money back if all the figures had been MISB, but many were far from it. Lots of them didn't even have the box inserts!

I agree. There's no way this guy is going to make a return on his money. That was the biggest debate back when the Ultimate Auction was still listed. Everyone said there was no way they'd pay that much, because most of the items were not MISB. MISB items would fetch a pretty penny. But not what this person got ahold of.

I do plan on keeping an eye out for those licensed products that were listed in the auction. I really would love to own some of those items. =P

I noticed some of the items from that "Ultimate G1 Auction" looked yellowed, specifically PM Optimus Prime, Apeface and Fastlane/Cloudraker.

If you're referring to the items in the link I gave in the first post, all those items are not from the Ultimate G1 Auction. Since most of the items that seller is selling do not come with boxes, it is safe to assume this. Why spend 50k on an auction and then resell a bunch of the items without their boxes?

If you're referring to the G1 Auction itself, I never noticed any yellowing on the items. But thenagain, I didn't look at everything that was shown.

If he keeps selling some of these case fresh MISB items, he could make alot. Keep in mind, he might not want to sell ALL of them. Maybe he wants to keep a few.

There are not that many "case fresh MISB' items in that collection. The Seller is very sketchy.

I'm referring to the original auction(s). These were from the original auction(s).

    [IMG][IMG]

It could be insert that had yellowed or the toy, I can't really tell.

With Prime it looks like a piece of plastic inside rather than the toy.

If it is the toy, it's going to hurt the value a bit; although that goes without saying.

Oh. See, I never really looked at those figures. I was more focused on all the licensed items, such as the stamps, erasers, and such. I like cutesy things, what can I say? ;)
