I'm working on animating a scene from The Ultimate Doom and needed something for the 'watchdogs' on Cybertron. Short of scratch-building them, this seemed like a good substitute (especially being a contemporary of that era!) - the old Super Gobot, Psycho.

I found a cheap one on eBay, lots of wear and tear but that didn't matter as I would be removing the stickers and repainting the bodywork.

Very simple paint job. Added a couple of red headlights on the front.

I did try painting under the windscreen to preserve the transparency, but since it's blue-tinted that didn't work, so I ended up painting over the top.

Will not be using robot mode, but for anyone interested:

    In action!

Oh, that is absolutely brilliant! In this context, the robot mode just works perfectly!

Ha ha, thanks, I've been doing that kind of thing for a while now for my YouTube vids (Masterpiece ReAnimated).

    This is amaze!
Too bad you had to lose the windshield/roof transparency, but that Action scene makes it sooo worth it!

If you really wanted a usable, more Transformers-y robot mode, you could use FOC Sideswipe as a base. But you'd need to cover the wheel-sides, somehow.

I did look at a few other possibilities, but this guy just seemed to hit more of the right notes (without any heavy modding). Also I didn't want folks watching the clip to say 'Oh he's just repainted such-and-such TF character, that doesn't make sense' so this is a bit more unique... and possibly even some viewers won't know what it is at all. And when they find out, It's a bit of an easter egg :)
Psycho was in pretty bad condition, I gave him a new chance at life :lol
    Thank you!

Ha ha, slightly more tricky! Actually wasn't there supposed to be a 3rd party version of those guys? Whatever happened to that?
