Can't believe its on the telly.
It's been on TV numerous times.
YTV has aired it atleast six times now.
Sweet! *plans on watching as far as Prime's death, then changing channel before it gets crappy*
Thats exactly what I'm doing too.
Yeah I know, I'm watching it.
Yup me too
I watched it, looked like they used a knackered old VHS.
Also, Draven - that is the best avatar ever. Repton ftw.
Not only do we not have YTV, but TFTM:86 on TV in the UK - AFAIK, this a first.
Last time i checked, YTV was not available in the U.K.
Probably seemed like an odd post but for some reason the UK never really got to see the series that many times. I'm not even sure Series 3 was ever shown on UK TV.
Don't forget we only had 4 channels 20 years ago. And our satellite TV didn't really become mainstream until the mid 90s. Before then it was huge dishes in the garden for the very rich families or porn addicts
The original series is being shown on Sky channel 619. Double episodes at 7 and 10 UK time. I think some of Series 1 was on UK telly but thats it!
We got stiffed with Transformers in the UK - we never got Swoop or Blaster to name a stack of TFs that never made it over here - heaven knows why.
They were showing series 3 and Rebirth last week, now they've wrapped around to series 1 again.
We never got a proper terrestrial broadcast back in the 1980's though.
Series 1 was cut into five minute (or less) segments in the "Roland Rat show" (later "Wackaday"!) and I seem to remember ROLL FOR IT being left out altogether.
I don't recall seeing Season 2 or 3 at all apart from the stuff released on VHS.
It was something I never understood. He-Man and Thundercats were on loads but not TFs.
Only time I saw any Season 3 was when we were on stayed at Centre Parcs years ago and it was on the satellite channel.
I'm working through Headmasters right now.
Ah yes, I remember seeing MTMTE pt 1 for the first time during the first week of the summer holidays in 1985... Well, the first five minutes of it! ISTR episodes being only split in half on Saturday mornings, to keep kids watching the complete garbage ITV had going up against Saturday Superstore/Going Live!
I think we got *some* of Season 2, but S3 passed us by completely. The last time I saw any G1 cartoons was around 1992, when Sky 1 showed the whole lot on Saturday mornings at around 11am (preceded by Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, followed by that odd Star Trek cartoon from the 70s).
