I was just wonder if anyone else has heard this and what their opinion is on it.
The song was okay, I just hate them because they beat my Falcons....
eh it was blah. The horn arrangements were pretty weak.
Any advice on where to hear this? Was this a live performance, recorded, what?
U2 and Greenday.
Wow. Two bands I could really care less about.
U2 is WAY too political in both word and song. Greenday, when they first started, were AWESOME and they are one of the FEW punk bands I'd listen too. Now, they're apparently following U2's political footsteps.
A Punk Band being political?!?! Oh my God that is so not punk rock! I bet The Clash, Anti-Flag, The Minutemen, Minor Threat, NoFx, The Damned, Crass...and like every punk band thats worth its salt would denounce these trabadours of so called 'punk'
Indeed. I have little time for nonpolitical bands.
So is this from their performance at the Superdome Monday or something else from beforehand? I missed the pregame show.
You win the Internet!
Second best post of the year
Gotta chime in here - I like it when musicians actually write/perform music about something other than sex, money, and partying. I mean, there's a place for that, no doubt - much of the Beatles' legendary catalog is about those things. But artists taking a stand for what they believe in is excellent. It's what the USA First Amendment is for.
BTW, speaking of this topic, check out this movie:
Also: found the video for it if anybody's interested:
I rather enjoyed this, myself. But then, I love both bands.
Yeah the US VS John Lennon! I listened to the interview with the author of the book on NPR last week, I think it might have been with Terry Gross, can't remember. But yeah, can't wait to see the documentary
Goddamn that was aces. Totally freaking mental crossover as well.
Oh noes! Twin Twist and I think alike! Help! Help!
I wanna ramble about how important politically aware and active musicians are, but it's against board rules
shhhhh..... Their at Botcon baby.... no one's gonna know..
Streck is still here.
I read about it in Rolling Stone, they almost made some punk rock up Billie Joe said..
The whole thing was alot better in person believe me...course it may have been cause I was really drunk at the time. Damn Hand Grenades.
More of the same bland and boring stuff Greenday and U2 have been putting out, individually, for at least 10 years now.
Mickeys! I love some Mickeys, but yeah I bet it was good in person..
The song wasn't written by either band, it was written by the Skids. If you get a chance to hear the original recording, it's a little more raw.
