Sweet I wonder which dates, I could try to watch the shoot. I've frequently seen shoots going down in Downtown L.A.

Okay, now I'm not a firm believer in quick, Hollywood-to-reporter interviews, but if this is true, it's kinda crappy. They wanted him for the role but auditioned Peter Cullen? Awesome. :rolleyes2

Sure, there's the possibility that he's got his facts wrong or something, but
    A) It's the first news of the day
    B) It's something to pick at in the article

Yeah, I thought that was a bit odd myself. Although he's the same guy who said the budget was $200 million IIRC.

I'd say the voice of Optimus is a little more important than whatever footsoldier role Tyrese has.

Yeah, word. They jump at the chance to have Gibson but cooly offer Cullen a spot in the audition line? Crappy.

Id agree with Prime's voice being more important, but it just seems to me that there's way to many names associated with human roles in this movie, and it's probably going to cut down on TF's screentime. I'm not naysaying to much, but I bet that we're not gonna get much tf/tf scenes, but mostly humans/tf's. In fact I'll bet there wont be any solo transformer scenes, that they will always have an actor with them.

What do you think they will be filming in LA.

I heard in an report that that was supposed to be the setting for a battle between optimus and Megatron but with hoover dam now also in contention what do you think it will be used for?

Ok, you didn't get my point - I wasn't agreeing with you.

The Optimus role is important, which is why they're having auditions. Tyrese's role is not, which is why they did not need auditions.

They'll be shooting everything else in LA, not just certain scenes. A lot of it on the stages they have, but I'm sure they'll be all over LA, as most films are. Of course this does not include any of the in-air shooting they have yet to do with the F-22 and any other planes.

Or you could look at it like they wanted to make sure it was perfect, so they kept thier options open by having people audition for the role, just in case Cullen isn't as good as we all think he is?

    John Turturro, huh?

The only movie that I remember him in was "The Secret Window", and only because he was the secondary character.

But I digress, actually that's all I have to say. :p

    John Turturro? No.

But he is a very good actor and one of my favorites. If he's in the movie, that would be awesome.

Note: Imdb does have transformers listed as one of tuturro's movies.

I could look at it that way, but I don't. There's a great thread in the movie discussion listing all of the reasons for and against having Cullen do the voice of Prime, so I don't plan to add a massive explanation as of why I want Peter Cullen doing Optimus Prime's voice. I just do. He's what I recognize, he's what I know, he's what would entertain me the most as a fan.

Gibson being handed a role while Cullen gets auditioned is retarded, in my opinion. It's as simple as that.

I'll go with that. Sorry I misinterpreted you.
