MSX would be choice. Then we could get the proper Metal Gear 1 and 2 instead of the versions which were released on NES.

All of this talk about adding consoles to the Virtual Console reminds me of Trapper Keeper from South Park.

There are so many consoles that should be added to the VC. Whatever the two end up being it will good news for all of us. The more choices the better.

That's cool. I'm really hoping for the second to be Gameboy. It's been a long time since I played Link's Awakening and Mario Land 2.

I don't want to be the one to complain, but for me Virtual Console is overpriced. There are few real values in there and it's not that I'm disappointed that it's offered, but having emulation for all those years before VC really spoils you (in more ways than just the "free" aspect)...

See, I've found the opposite to be true. Emulation on a computer is a pale imitation of the real thing. Playing Punch-Out and Super Mario 3 on a real TV again just FEELS different (and better) than on a PC.

I have to agree. I have a good emulator on my PC (especially for something as simple as a NES), but to have it back on the old couch instead of my chair in front of my PC desk really does more for me.

I still agree with the first post that the shit is way overpriced, especially when PSN and Xbox Live offer games that are 1-2 generations old for the price that Nintendo is offering their Nes games. Furthermore, I hate (no loath) that Nintendo gets you by using points instead of just charging you for what you are buying, like PSN does. If I have 400 points, and a game is 500, I have to spend another 10 bucks to compensate. If a game on PSN is 2.99, then I spend 3 bucks and nothing more. That whole thing turned me into just homebrewing the stuff on my PSP. If I'm going to spend 10 bucks on a NES game (considering the strange uneven pricing they have and how you end up spending 10 bucks for a 5 dollar game) I'd rather save for a current gen game.

I agree with everything you said.
But, at least Nintendo's points make more sense than Microsoft's points because 100 Nintendo points equal $1 and Microsoft has 80 points per $1.
Because we all know it is easier to do math by increments of 80 than it is 100.

Plus, Nintendo is starting to "give away" free points with Wii Fit. You can convert Star Points into Wii Points, which is something that I'm sure will become a trend as time goes on. While it's not much, I don't see any other system letting you work towards a free game for being loyal.

Are you serious? I hadn't heard that, but that's BRILLIANT. Attaching a tangible reward as motivation to success in a fitness game is a stroke of genius.

It's brilliant until you see how many points per point you get. Lulz.

Wow, I didnt realise those Star Points things were actually worth anything. I havent even registered half my stuff and I can get a free 300 points!

Unfortunately, I can't register anything else, Nintendo's site is shit. The club Nintendo thing you need to use to register it is '404 not found'. Good way to stop people getting free points!

EDIT: It's fixed. Got my 300 points earlier, and am going to redeem another 500 on the 26th.

I agree with this, too. I have NES and SNES emulators on my PC, but I didn't hesitate to download Super Mario 2, Super Mario World, and Super Metroid.

A thousand times YES. NEED Alex Kidd and (to a lesser extent) Wonderboy.

Ooh. Cool! Hadn't heard that, either.

Heh. One million push-ups = one NES game. But only Deadly Towers or Addams Family. For anything else, you have to do 3 million.

Old school Game Boy would be rocking. I never did get to play Super Mario Land (or it's sequels) and to have Metroid 2 on the big screen would be awesome.

Except you can only put increments of 10 dollars in your wallet at the Sony Network Store. So your -still- in the same situation on the Playstation network as you are on the Virtual console.

And people keep saying the games are overpriced, but find me, including shipping and or gas, where you could find these games easily for less.

*no illegal emulation does not count*
