Twin Twist, along with his brother Topsin, are a commission for x01618. He had seen Solrac's version of them done from Eng Skyblast and Cyb Scattorshot, so he decided that he would like them done like that, and it just so happened that I already had the base figures in my parts bin for a project. We then discussed heads, and the idea of Eng Strongarm came up for Twin Twist, after comparing his noggin with G1 Twin Twist, I noticed a very strong similarity, with some work it will make for a very convincing Twin Twist. So the first of the many updates to this project, is the Eng Strongarm head on his new body. Which actually is a perfect fit, and of course with some mods done to it, will make for a convincing Twin Twist. So, yea some light styrene work, some sanding and he will have a good, convincing Twin Twist noggin. So my next mods were pretty simple, I never like how Scattorshot's front tires turned into small chain guns, so I eliminated them, cut them loose and glued them back onto his vehicle mode. Then after that, I totally gutted the Cyber Key feature, and it did leave a gaping hole, which I can fill with styrene and a small Autobot logo tampo. Oh, and before anyone asks, yes the head does indeed fit for the transformation. There is a small gap between the back of his head and the surface of his vehicle top, I plan on cutting the back of Scattorshot's head off and using that to fill it. One last parting pic, a mis-transformation for a Driller mode. Like I said, some light styrene work, some sanding and this baby is ready for paint. Now if I can just knock out Topspin as quick. EDIT 1: I started on the styrene work for Twin Twist, got his backpack/drill rig filled, started cutting his noggin down (gotta get some 0.5 mm styrene to build up his head). So all that's left now is to finish his head, doing some slight filler between the styrene pieces and then paint times! Here are the pics from tonight:
Very cool! That reminds me. I need to take some updated pics since I repainted them even better. Can't wait to see these guys finished.
If you watch my "Dare" video that I posted in the video section, you can see them in the background. Hard to see though.
I've seen the video, must have missed them, guess I'm gonna go watch it again. Well I got the white Krylon Fusion paint today, he's set to be painted tomorrow, it's pouring down rain here, drawbacks to living in Dagobah aka Florida.
