I’m not sure about them just remaking classic episodes. That one has been done so many times too. In my opinion, a new Twilight Zone show should be a mix between telling new stories in the same vein as the original show and remaking some of the lesser talked about episodes of the past and tweaking them for modern day. Unless the trailer impresses me, I think I’m just going to stick to the original.
Yeah, it looks good, but I'll never see it, because CBS All Access. Guess I'm sticking with Black Mirror...
That makes it look less like TTZ and more of a serialized series. Looks like something happens then time rewinds and plays out differently. Each episode rewinds to be a remake of classic episodes or something. Again All Access? Screw you CBS. I won't pay for STD nor will i pay for this. If you broadcast them i'd watch every week. But this? Nope.
I wouldn’t mind some sort of revisiting To Serve Man. While the story mostly ended conclusively with mankind now a bunch of fat, happy cattle, some people obviously heard that it was a cookbook. Not that they could really do anything at that point, countless people were already being eaten.
So the first episode was free to watch on YouTube, so I did. It was good, but it did not need to be 55 minutes long. It would have been fine at 30. Nevertheless, it was enjoyable and Tracy Morgan was just all kinds of badass in the small role he had. Looking forward to seeing more, but I'm not paying for another streaming service to watch it. I'll either just torrent it or wait for it to come out to BD and rent it.
At half an hour it would've been an OK story. Not great, but solidly OK. As is, the plot was too thin for the run time and the world was so poorly developed that I spent most of the back half just wanting him to complain about himself so it would all end.
That's exactly the issue, there wasn't enough development to warrant the 55 minute run time. Like the bus stop thing. Why did they not actually do something with that plot? I had no idea the asshole comedian had anything to do with that at all. Why would he still even have a job if he killed a woman and her baby while driving drunk? That makes no sense to me. Hell, why wasn't he in jail then?
Well, watching the first episode to the new series kind of inspired me to pick this up today: Well, I also had $15 in Amazon rewards points I'm going to be losing when I deny the renewal of my Prime account next week, and since they had the set on sale for $58, I figured why the hell not. It will be my final Prime purchase. What shocked me is I ordered it around 9 this morning and they delivered it about 40 minutes ago.
Watching the ep now. Yeah way too drawn out. I listen to The Twilight Pwn podcast. The finished the classic series a long time ago and did some Night Gallery eps off and on since. They came back to review this. Yeah they kinda roasted it a bit and gave it a 5/10. I see that. Yeah does not make me want to get All Access. If it was on Netflix or Hulu i might watch, but not CBS all access.
