Ya know, I want to like TF stories. Really, I do. I try. But Hasbro fights me. But I fought back, this time. I actually had an epiphany while checking out my Vector Prime figure that lets me put just a SLIGHT spin on things, and at the same time explain Unicron, human sized cockpits everywhere, the matrix, and the obvious humanoid link between TFs and humans. Not really a fan-fic, more of a tweaking. Dig it:

Note: This story picks up immediately after TFTM.
G1: Movie concludes. When the matrix opens, Optimus re-awakens. The matrix is delivered to him by Rodimus Prime, who then becomes Rodimus, admitting that he may be the chosen one, but Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobots. Optimus establishes an Earth team to stay there (alternators), while Rodimus returns to Cybertron to help usher in the age of peace.

Or so he thought. Upon returning to Cybertron, it's GONE. Only a raging vacuum remains, which he is nearly sucked into, except he's saved by an ancient transformer, Vector Prime.

They return to Earth, where Vector tells Optimus that long ago, there were two warring factory-like planets. Both had human like natives, but one planet was a factory of war machines, the other a factory of service civilian machines. These humanoid races both used machines that would turn from a human-like form into a vehicle. They were as common as cars are to us.

The war-factory planet of course had some pretty reckless people. There was several A.I. projects involved, and a huge secret. Amidst the war, on the war-world the Artificial Intelligence took over and went on a rampage. As the now sentient robots ramped up the attack on the civilian-factory world, they infected the civilian-style machines with the A.I. virus as well. The A.I. left on the war world activated the UNICRON program, transforming the entire PLANET into a sentient transformer. It was insane, not able to truly grasp it's place in the galaxy, and could not feed it's hunger. Screaming, it flew off into deep space. The survivors fled to the factory world, where the war continued for millenia. In the chaos, the few humanoid survivors agreed to cooperate, hiding the key for the UNICRON self destruct program in the designated leader of the now artificially intelligent AUTOBOT faction, known as VECTOR PRIME, the first PRIME designate. Knowing that there needed to be a last ditch effort against the UNICRON entity, they enacted the same process on Cybertron, but then dispersed the ignition keys to Cybertron across the other factory worlds, including the race-production world of Velocitron, vowing this would never happen again unless they NEEDED to activate the PRIMUS program. They surviving humans then fled their once home-world of Cybertron, eventually finding Earth, where they crash landed, losing all data, killing most of the other survivors. Millenia later, G1 begins, where the bots crash on the very same planet as their creators.

What do you think? All the other planets in GF can be factory-style worlds from that era. Except Animatros, where that faction of humans detonated a nuke to try to take out the TFs. They just took out themselves and most of the planet. The TF hard drives were damaged in the blasts, and wiped clean. When they grew with the planet, their forms were like that of the mutated wildlife. It explains why TFs look like humans, it explains why they have human sized cockpits even in spacey-alt modes, heck, it even explains how humans got on earth! (although forgive me if that offends anyone, it's just sci-fi, no harm done) It explains why there's a bunch of factionless TFs on a highway world with no humanoids to be found, it even explains JUNKION!! It was the junk factory recycling planet! My TFs are going to JUNKION for a planet key! Who hoo!!

Intriging. I liked it. Very unique. You should make a Cybertron story based off this and create it how you want it to be.

Thank you very much! I think I will, but I'll likely continue to loosely base it off of the show, if I can. I gave it the set-up, hopefully the show will be decent enough that I won't need to re-do much more....(yeah right)
