If I didn't already have the boxset I'd go get it, but it's nice to know that those of us who don't own the DVDs still have a chance to watch this awesome series :)

Why are they still doing this with professionally translated DVDs are already available?

DVDs that are COMPLETELY TRANSLATED, by the way.

I wouldn't want them because the subs are inaccurate. It being R2 also hurts. I thank TV Nihon for doing this service for the fans.

    I thought Headmasters was region-free?

Headmasters from both Metrodome and Madman are region free. The subtitles are about 95% correct, so no excuses.

The translations for the subs were accurate (unless you're one of those people who consider using "Decepticon" in place of "Destron" as inaccurate). They were just inconsistent (like with the names of the Beastformers and a few Japanese/English names) and there was one episode where they totally went nuts and had the subs from another episode show up when they weren't supposed to (during a scene with no dialogue, so you don't miss anything, but it ruins the mystery of Mega Zarak's weak spot).

Despite those technical setbacks, I still prefer Metrodome's subs over TVNihon's. None of that "Convoy-tachi must battle that yatsu Megatron and the Destron-gundan!" crap.
