I'm trying to understand what Hasbro's intentions were for this guy. I just got mine from HTS today. He came in a box that was way too big in several dimensions but had no packing material to speak of. I thought "oh well, at least I was planning to open it anyways". Then, I open it and find that there are no instructions. I dunno if that's just mine or all of them but WTF? I mean, he's not a complicated guy to transform for sure but I keep instructions and this really threw me for a loop. So... they don't expect you to keep it in box because they don't take care to package it nicely and they don't expect you top open it because they don't include instructions?

    Help me understand this.

HTS never packs well. That's pretty much a given.

i couldn't get there fast enough.

(not paying 80+ shipping from BBTS for one.)

That SDCC edition is the best one i have seen.

No packing material whatsoever in my box either. I'm assuming that was the same for the rest of them, but a strange way to ship. One very over-sized box with the merchandise rattling around inside.

They must have had a hell of a post-sdcc rush, and ran out of bubble wrap.

I just ordered one, cancelled after 20 minutes of debating about such impulsive purchase, after all, I already have an encore one.....

HTS doesn't do bubble wrap. Sometimes they'll throw in the bag of air if you're lucky.

Unless you're someone who doesn't have a Soundwave reissue yet (or the cassetes he comes with), loves exclusives or loves Soundwave and has to have at least one of everything Soundwave, I'd pass on this reissue. Be it to open or keep MISB, the three previous Soundwave reissues suit those purposes better. I would've at least been tempted by the Comicon reissue if it had a cooler box to display it in (I love the Hasbro/Toys R Us box), but I wasn't impressed. I was more excited by the damn Mighty Mugg.

Mine was the same way. Box way to big and no packing material. Also, the box it came in was beat to crap, but miraculously Soundwave's box was in great shape.

hey now i was considering this release just for that reason. who says just cause you got the encore you can't get this? heck i was thinking of giving my half-brother the second soundwave and laserbeak. only thing wrong with the plan is the fact that that the stegasaurus cassette would be missing (slugfest?).....then in order to finish the decepticon cassettes i would need to grab the third cassette pack with rumble, frenzy, and overkill.....but i missed out so oh well

I am going to be really unhappy if my box arrives making garbage look well kept.

Hmm.. Well if the instructions missing is only me then the only problem I really have with it is that they included Buzzsaw instead of Frenzy or Rumble. I mean, how many times did he use Buzzsaw in the show? That, and getting two of the same mold is less satisfying so some more diversity would have been nice. Overall I'm very pleased considering this is my first G1 Soundwave.
