I apologize in advance for this thread. We've had quite enough chat about the relative success of the PS3 and Wii, but this did pique my curiosity. I was in TRU yesterday, and while buying a game asked when they got in Wii's. The cashier (maybe manager, given her age) said they come in every 2 weeks and sell out right away. Last week they got 45, and there was a line at the door Sunday morning before they opened. OK, the line outside the door suprised me, but I could accept it. Then I asked about how the PS3 is doing. She said it wasn't doing well, and that almost 50% of the ones the sell are defective. While I know the PS3 isn't selling at Wii levels, and we could quibble the qualifications for "doing well", the high level of defective merchandise just sounded wrong to me. I know the 360 has its issues, and I expect some with the PS3 too, but 50%? That sounds like bullshit to me. What are your thoughts?
