So I opened my TRU Perceptor tonight and the launcher was glued in the open position. This of course made it impossible to hold a missile in a downward position. I disassembled the launcher and carefully broke the hook portion free. I was just curious if this was intentional by Hasbro, or if some one got a little sloppy with the glue at the assembly line?

Unless someone pipes up who has the figure themselves, I'd guess that it could be intentional. My basis of this? The launcher to Roller on my Reissue Prime had been filled in (and the spring removed)...

    -But that's just my guess...

Mine wasn't glued, so maybe it was just a defect?

Yeah it seems pretty intentional, but I figured I'd ask just in case.

Yup, glued for me (won't move at all, and there's a little bit of white on the part that looks like what you get when super glue dries/evaporates)

Is there a way to check through the box window? I don't have it with me right now. I bought one for my nephew for his Christmas present and would hate to have him open it only to be disappointed.

Mine is glued as well. I think they all are supposed to be due to safety reasons. It really sucks though because now the missile just falls out of the launcher. I was hoping it would at least be held in the launcher.

There really isn't any way to tell with it still in the box.

My SDCC Soundwave isn't glued. Maybe yours is just stuck. Buy the design of Soundwaves launcher internals there really isn't any way to glue it in an open position unless someone held it open until the glue cured.

Still hav'ent gone to TRU to check. Its a pretty long drive.

These reports for the new reissues sound pretty bad.
I've also heard the stickers fall off. Still going to try just to have a misb perceptor and some misb insecticons.

Yeah the stickers on the insecticons are all falling off...of course I could have wiped the parts with alcohol before applying them, but still..... some of the rough mold lines interfere too, and I was too lazy to sand them down.

No idea if there was glue or if it was just stuck good, but it did take a lot of fighting to get that lever to move so I could stick a missile in.

I've honestly never heard of this problem. According to the poll, a lot of peoples's (?) have been glued.

the launcher is disabled. it's intentional. safety laws and all that. anyone with a working missile launcher is either lying, or has extremely good luck.

No ones saying they have a working launcher because none of them have springs. It just seems some people don't have their triggers glued while most do.

Also I don't know that toy safety laws prohibit launchers. There are plenty of new toys with functional launchers. I think the regulation is on the size of the missile.

When the seekers were released, they had enlarged the lasers/missiles so they could fire. People complained they were too large. The only other alternative was to disable the launcher so the missile could stay small. Most fans agreed that was the better option. Rather have a non-firing right size missile than a large oversized goofy looking one. Now we got that, and people are still complaining.

It could be worse, he could have a giant missile instead.

All you need to do to make a non-firing launcher is remove the spring. It makes no sense to glue the trigger open.

Theres nothing wrong with complaining about a stupid decision.

I just rotated or twisted the missile inside the launcher until i got a little bit of friction and the missile stays in place pretty good, even if the weapon is aiming down. This really solves the problem for me since i've never cared for actually launching a missile out of a toy's gun.
    Hope this helps.
