Hasbro probably didn't have a choice. TRU most likely said they would only do an exclusive if it was a 2 pack of some sort. I think Hasbro nailed it right on the head under those circumstances.

 

I've been wanting this repaint of Mixy since I first saw the movie mold. Oddly enough the more news and pics of these guys come out, the more I'd rather just have Hoist.

 

Judging from the amount of two-packs still warming TRU shelves I would think that they don't sell as well. Wouldn't they sell better individually?

 

I wish that the Hoist redeco sold only with that G1 redeco Mixmaster in a 2 pack,,,

I miss the days when packs of 2 or more figures were usually a bargain compared to buying the equivalent figures separately.

I don't why he looks so freaking friendly. Even aside from the head though, I think the color balance is just weird in robot mode. Vehicle is fairly nice however, but that's not enough for me at all.

tru usually sells voyagers for like $23 a piece and deluxe figure for $12, add it up and you get their out of the market high price of $35, compared to walmart or target prices they are way higher. I hate how they never go on sale either, target and walmart put their exclusive stuff on sale like the target titaniums which were $20 and when on sale for $10. Walmart had skywarp and ramjet for $25 now they discount them to $22, I got mine for $17 and some have reported getting them as cheap as $10 a piece. KB Toys used to do the same thing, might be the reason why they went out of business! Wish they would do those buy 2 get 3rd item free deal again like they did with the energon and cybertron figures. that would help me get the figures i need, lol.

No, they would not sell better individually. That would require that each single packed toy be sold based on a buyer wanting just that one toy. With them 2-packed, TRU can force buyers into getting both if they only want one.

Since the demand for these figures is probably really low compared to on-film characters, this strategy works really well for them. Demand-by-Association if you will.

ive been having no luck finding ANYTHING in my area(NY/NJ) as of late. In the last month the only new stuff i've seen are the robot heroes box sets and the rpms which i dont want. I've only seen the wave 4 deluxes in one place so far and most of my toys r us stores are FILLED with the whirl/bludgeon sets so i doubt i'll see this anytime soon  

 

if anyone gets this and they don't want their mixmaster i can trade for a deluxe bonecrusher from the first movie (NOT JUNGLE BONECRUSHER) AND A MOVIE ONE DELUXE SCORPONOK

This is a different SKN number than the Whirl/Bludgeon set, so you'll probably see them soon.

 

Love Mixmaster. Will get this on sight. Not so keen on Hoist though, but since they come in a pair, have no choice but to buy the set.

I only wished they packaged Mixmaster with Whirl instead, those are the two I want. Bludgeon should have gone with Hoist.
