Walking down my neighborhood Walmart's Clearance aisle tonight awarded me with a very bizarre find - good ol' Animated Ironhide, complete with his "only at Toys 'R Us" sticker still intact. I laughed and figured there's no way in hell this would actually ring up in their computers, but I was pleasantly proven wrong. Not only was he available for purchase, but they had also marked him down even further.





This is the same Walmart that refused to let me purchase a newer Clone Wars figure last week because it wasn't in their system, yet they somehow let this through? I'm assuming someone returned this for store credit recently, since it had a visible spot on it where tape/wrapping may have been (a christmas gift, perhaps?). My question is: how the heck was returning this even possible? Have these popped up in any other Walmart stores?

Haha! Oh, please! Like I have nothing better to do than make this up. Look again at the DPCI numbers on both the clearance sticker and the actual receipt. Same number. Like I said, I was shocked when it rang up at all, but even more-so when it was CHEAPER than advertised. Believe me or not, it's on my shelf right now.

 

Fair enough. Can't blame me for being skeptical.

 

Stores mixing things up isn't that surprising as of late. I was in Toys R Us and spotted the entire DCUC "Validus" wave on the shelves...and that line's supposed to be a K-Mart exclusive.

 

Friggin Walmart man.... lol..

That wave was a "limited" K-Mart exclusive for about a month. I picked up my own set on sale at Target and I've seen them at TrU as well. Only during that month at K-Mart did they come packed with that "Only at K-Mart" sticker.

 

Well Target is in on it too....

 

That goes to show that some people at returns don't pay attention or don't care.

 

Is there a reason why they should?

 

I work at Target, and sometimes we'll get movies in from the DC with Best Buy or Walmart stickers on them. It's rare, but I've seen it happen.

 

If only to stop those repackers.
