Got Alternators Skids yesterday (love him, first Alt ever and it is amazing).

However, I cannot for the life of me transform him. Hasbro fails at instructions. Step 3, how the fuck do you fold the hood the way it says it goes when the joint does not fold in the direction it needs to?

    The hood?

If you take pics, I could tell you pretty easily what is going on wrong. I transform him all the time.

If you're talking about the roof then just mess with it some more, there's 2 joints there.

Yeah...that'd be what I am having problems with.

I've been fiddling with it, but it feels that if I keep trying to movie it it is gonna snap off/in half.

While its still in car mode, the roof will bend up 90 degrees at that little square-shaped joint, it just takes some fiddling.

I can get it to that point, it's when you have to bend it down (so that the back of the roof/the trunk is facing forwards) that I have problems.

When you fold the hood forward to take out the arms, and the head is not folded up yet, rotate the dash so that it faces backwards.

The stupid hinge I cannot figure out:

Tried getting pics of the instructions..but couldn't get them to show up (and the camera died).

Keep the hinge flush with the forward section, only bend the rear of the roof up. it should not be bending in both locations. Act as if the square hinge is part of the forward sectiuon of the roof. The rear portion should be EXACTLY 90 degress up.

    *edit

Im in school right now, when i get home, if you havent figured it out, I'll post pictures intructions.

Got it...the joint was just REALLY tight. I held my thumb over it and carefully pulled it up into place. Thanks for the help, I appreciate it.

No problem. In fact, I never even knew the joint bent like that until I got BTA Broadblast, who came packaged like that in robot mode. When I saw his "backpack," and said out loud "Holy Shit!" :)

It had me going for a bit...I knew it had to do that..but it just didn't seem to want to.

Anyways, here is the finished product:

It's funny, once I got past that..other than a few little fiddly bits here or there he wasn't such a hard transformation (guess Grimlock is the real nightmare..still want him though). Looks nice in robot mode.

So glad I picked him up now.

Yeah, Skids is great, one of my favorites. I like the way the frontend angles down, it looks aggressive.

    Indeed it does.

Now I need to start shopping around for more Alts...my poor, poor wallet.
