Man, Tron is a movie that needs a sequel. Kinda cool, the K-PAX music, another movie Jeff Bridges was in.

Nice. It is interesting to see how movie trailer styles have changed over the years.

That's kind of along the lines of what I was thinking.

    Nice work.

I have yet to see this infamous 'Tron' you speak of.

I already know it's right up my alley though. ;)

Well, techinically we did get a "sequel" a few years ago, if anyone played it.

Tron is easily one of my favorite movies of all time. However, it has not aged well, and I'm not talking of the effects. The technology represented in the film itself has advanced so far, that the tech speak and such just feels outdated. Doesn't ruin the movie for me, but it's easy to see why newcomers aren't interested. This is one movie where I would welcome a sequel or even a remake.

good call joe. its the same thing with hackers and other tech orientated films. too often when viewed in retrospect that kinda stuff loses its lustre due to current technology advancement.

I think it's both a period piece and a classic. It was a time of discovery for the public - computers were taking on more immediate relevance, since owning your own system wasn't so laughable anymore. Programs, memory, storage, and other such concepts were suddenly accessible on a personal level, and it was even more exciting if you were a kid. Tron took that sense of adventure and extended it, into a fantasy film with a setting defined by an historical turning point.

I can't say I'd support a sequel or remake, since the spirit in which the original was made could never hope to be recaptured today, with computers and the Internet as utterly commonplace as they are.

I'd welcome a remake if only Clu would start drinking White Russians and wearing a bathrobe.
