Just felt like doing something fun.

Sark was the program villain from the original Tron movie. The computer geek seen briefly at the beginning of Tron: Legacy (played by Cillian Murphy) is the son of Dillinger (David Warner), the real world baddie from the original movie.

So this is my take on Sark 2.0. I wanted to stay with the newer style of Legacy while trying to keep some of the visual cues from the original Moebius design.

    Pencil sketch with photoshop colors.

    Thanks for taking a look!

looks cool I would not change a thing if I had did it myself... but I'd move the face up about half an inch inside his helmet kinda looks off to me as it is maybe also make it less noticeable

Sark has to be in the next movie, and he needs a cape.

Just watched Legacy last night ironically. This would go great in TR3N

If I had to nitpick, I'd say the mask looks too much like TRON: Legacy Clu's helmet and the cape just isn't Sark. Clu only sports a robe when he's lounging around anyway. If Sark were to have an accessory, I think he'd look great with a palm-sized holographic MCP to communicate with, kinda like what Commander Cody had in Episode 3 when order 66 came around(
    ).

If I were updating Sark, I would use his original headgear features(http://www.g-pop.net/images/tron2.jpg) and place the tinted mask parts found on the new Tron helmets where there are open sections on Sarks original mask. I would also obviously make the white costume black and simplify the red lines so only the thickest/main red lines are used in the new costume design.

    Kinda like this:

When people familiar with the original TRON see the new costume, they want to instantly know who that is by being able to recognize Sark's unique costume headgear. I always felt his "pointy helmet bits and rims" were what set him apart from the other costumed characters, more so than his evil red coloring. Sark always struck me as "the guy with the funny headgear," and that whenever I saw him I knew trouble was sure to follow.

Regardless, your artwork is nothing short of amazing and matches the film's look perfectly. If they make a sequel, I hope you try to get on the film's costume design team.

The cape, I admit, was kind of an afterthought. I'm thinking it could be an feature that's in some scenes and not in more action oriented ones.

    Glad you like it. :)

    Thanks.

    Most kind.

    ?

Still needs a little work, but glad you like it.

I may do some more detailed illustrations of the back and side of the suit as well as some further exploration of the helmet.

I think you're right about the helmet. Several others have mentioned a desire to see something with more cues to the original helmet. I actually did a quick sketch of the helmet with the "horns", but wasn't happy enough with the direction it was going to flesh it out any further.

I'll see if I can come with something interesting.

It seems that the Legacy costumes have many details integrated into the suits themselves, in that there really isn't anything hanging off or jutting out like the 80's costumes. Everything is smooth, flattened and contained. I think only Jarvis has a forehead display that juts out just a bit, but even that is shaped to conform to his head and almost looks like a hairdo made of rubber and glass:

Try a sketch where the pointy bits from Sark's helmet are still present, but only as details that are integrated into the suit itself, and do not jut out. Kinda like if you took the pointy sections of the 80's headgear that jut out and glued them down to his head and neck areas -or- if you just made the open areas of Sark's headgear where the bits jut out be filled in with more suit.

I have an idea about the helmet. How about adding a larger collar, that sort of blends into the helmet. The best example I can think of is Kamen Rider Black RX. I think that sort of shape would add a greater Sark look to the silhouette.
