Hot damn! It's been talked about off and on for a while. Never thought they'd actually get around to it. The YouTube link posted above has been taken down, but search for tr2n, and you'll get plenty of others. Awesomeness.
A beloved, historic film that really wasn't all that good. Like most of their live action stuff (and even their animated material) from the70s and early 80s, any pretense of it being "classic" is due to overheated nostalgia. What I will give Tron is that it created an interesting world, and I think it'd be fun to revisit it.
I WAS JUST TALKING ABOUT THIS MOVIE's POTENTIAL THIS WEEKEND. BEST NEWS EVER!!!! Edit: Quote from lunch this weekend with my girlfriend.... "Technology and computer lingo has changed so much in the last 20 years. This is the time for a movie like Tron to work and make sense so much more than it did when it first came out... This movie needs an update or sequel." And then this fan-freekin-tastic news. Monday, Made.... Monday Made.
Soo.... not to overly-necro a thread, but as opposed to opening another one, has anyone heard any update on this? It's been several months and I've not heard another peep.
^ I just read a few days ago that the "computer world" sequences are going to be made in 3-D, including first-person views from the seat of a lightcycle.
