Hi guys, 2nd time poster so go easy on me!

Had an epiphany this morning and need to get it down while it's still fresh in my mind. A DOTM review I read pointed out that the Decepticons plan in DOTM contradicts the previous movies so I thought of a way to re-work the trilogy to possibly enhance it. So here are my thoughts (basic story outlines)

The trilogy would work better as TF, TF: DOTM then TF: ROTF

TF
-Blackout survives Mission City battle
-Have mentions of SP amongst Autobots

TF: DOTM
-SP still betrays Autobots, although Ironhide isn't killed by him
-Shockwave orchestrates a coup to overthrow Megatron as leader of the Decepticons, leading to...
-2 Decepticon factions as a result: Decepticons (Megatron, Soundwave, Laserbeak, Ravage, Blackout, Barricade, Dreads etc) and Shockwaves "Renegades"   (Shockwave, Starscream, Protoforms etc)
-Shockwave believes Megatrons current leadership is "illogical"
-SP and Shockwave team up to end war and rebuild Cybertron
-Prime kills SP
-Megatron kills Shockwave
-Megatron kills Starscream for betraying him
-Megatron and Prime call truce, Decepticons leave Earth

TF: ROTF
-Decepticons take refuge on Mars while Megatron plots revenge
-Human archeologists discover strange markings (Cybertronian symbols) all over Earth, particularly Egypt
-Soundwave, disguised as a news van monitors events as Megatron believes this could lead to the discovery of The Fallen
-Ravage still steals Allspark fragment from NEST HQ
-Prime fights Megatron, Blackout and other Decepticon in Forest, Blackout dies, as does Prime
-Autobots discover The Fallen is entombed within one of the great pyramids in Egypt and race to beat the Decepticons to his location
-Sam also goes on mission to find the Matrix, as in the movie to revive Prime
-Deceptions find The Fallen (revive him using the stolen Allspark fragment) and Sun Harvester via Devestator destroying pyramids
-Sam dies and is revived same as in the movie
-Prime is revived and is given Jetfires parts
-Prime destroys Sun Harvester, kills Megatron and The Fallen

Obviously the human stories have to be re-shuffled to accomodate the changes I've made but I feel the trilogy works better if re-arranged as above, any feedback appreciated.

That would be cool, but like how they are at the moment.

 

Only one problem......Wheelie, Dino and the Wreckers it won't make much sense with all the re-shuffle.

 

Yeah I didn't cover all points in my post, I just put down the basic story outlines, again some characters would need shuffling to accomodate the changes.

 

so your thoughts are if you change the story of each film and reshuffle them, its better?

well the though was that if DOTM takes place before ROTF then the overall story arc may work better. It's all about opinions.

maybe phrasing it this way will help you understand the problem.

 

Well the same basic story would apply to DOTM, with certain aspects being changed (character motivations, etc)

I originally thought ROTF would play out as I wrote above, obviously I was way off when I saw the actual film.
