Treadshot's awesome Shapeways stuff - Accepting Commissions! Treadshot A1's 3D Designs Hi! I'm Treadshot A1, and i'm a designer over on Shapeways. I've always been interested in toys ever since I was a child, especially Transformers. Now, my focus is on improving on the toys we have and filling the holes in collections everywhere. From weapon kits to complete figures, my goal is to make playing with toys fun once more. So, What is Shapeways? And what do you do? Shapeways is a company specialising in 3D printing, the technology of turning a computer model into a real object. The idea is that Shapeways takes a model on a computer and creates an exact physical duplicate of it in a material of your choosing. My job is to create the computer models which are submitted to Shapeways, both designing new parts and actually crafting a virtual model. Uh huh... And why should I care? Well, for one thing, I always believe that there is no such thing as overkill when it comes to toys. "Too many toys" just doesn't exist, and neither does "too many weapons". Toy robots fighting a war without weapons or reinforcements just wouldn't end well. This thread is all about arming toys with far too many weapons and creating new robots to replace those on the wrong end of a gunshot. And of course, making your shelf that much more intimidating. Plus, who needs a reason for overkill? The Vehicons; drills, cars and jets; just a front for their drone army. Behind the scenes, swarms of deadly micro-robots plot against the remaining 'Bots. Underground, in the walls, right behind you; a Shard listens." ------------------------------------------------- TFP FE Starscream Fusion Boosters What if Starscream actually led the 'Cons? He'd have twin Fusion Boosters, that's what. And they'd attach in Jet mode to make him fly even faster! When you let Starscream finally have the power he desires, what could be better than rubbing it in his former master's face by giving him twin Fusion Cannons? Three missiles either side was never enough to really obliterate the remaining 'Bots. A fusion cannon on each arm...that's twice the firepower that Megatron had! TFP Cliffjumper "Stranzer" Weapons Kit The result of too many hours spent in front of the monitor, the Stranzer is the ultimate in anti-'Con technology. Basically an entire armory in one weapon, the Stranzer is suited for combat at any distance. You can fight up close, hacking and slashing through 'Cons. You can blast them at mid-range with the Stranzer's built-in blaster, and enemies far away get a nasty surprise when a knife flies right into their optic sensors. And when the enemy's just too far away for even your blaster, bring out the ultimate Stranzer weapon: The Stranzer Bow. Hearts of Steel Bumblebee TFP FE Arcee Blasters TFP Cliffjumper "Evala" Weapon Kit So it turns out i left out one thing, and my Cliffjumper hasn't been very happy about it. I can't believe i forgot Cliffjumper's cannon. How could Cliffjumper be left without a huge cannon? The Evala weapon kit should set things right. Whereas the Stranzer focused on versatility, the Evala does one thing and it does one thing well. It blows stuff up. The Evala weapon kit focuses on long range combat, engaging 'Cons before they even know you're in range. The Evala Cannon wipes out enemy units before you step into sensor range, and survivors meet a nasty fate when the Evala Impaler slices right through their spark chamber. The Evala Weapon Kit is one of the more 'odd' weapon kits ever made for warfare. Unlike standard Energon blasters, the Evala weapons mix Energon and magnetism for a deadly result. The Evala Cannon fires vast amounts of energon, while the Evala Magna-Pistol houses a high-current induction coil to provide an energon-controlling magnetic field, for when you just gotta get up close and personal. Good news! Dark Minion Fremble v4 has been shipped! That means, on the 25th (24th in the states), it'll arrive at my place, and assuming all goes well, Fremble v4, Ravager v3, Beast v2 and Sqwawk/Beak/Saw v2 will all be released!
Wow, that took a lot longer than i thought. Anyways, i've just finished housecleaning. Or Shop-cleaning. Either way, i've taken down all the old versions of any models, so no more digging to find the one version that is available, and any other irrelevant models have been removed. Models that are shown but aren't available will be available soon.

Update: SG Galv Head now available (thanks to Screamingjet) Also reopening for commissions. I am approaching exams, so I may be a bit slower than usual to respond. Please bear with me. SG Galv Head SG Galv Head by Treadshot A1 on Shapeways Commission for Screamingjet of the TFW2005 boards. Intended as a replacement head for Cybertron Evac/Universe Blades/Universe Springer (the helicopter mold). Each order gets you two heads (please see comparison picture provided). The Standard head is 15mm wide, so it's the biggest it can be while still fitting inside the mold's Chest Cavity for altmode. The Cartoon head is only 13.5mm wide. This head is thinner, and closer to the proportions of the character. This head also fits in altmode (it's not as wide, so there's actually space left over). Simply choose whichever head you like more, the bigger one, or the thinner-but-more-cartoon-like head. Due to the majority of people adding ball joint necks when creating this custom, i have left the head solid. You will need to supply your own ball joint. Recommended to be printed in FUD, as the material mimics light piping.
Why not make a Springer head that could be used on the Tomahawk base? Also, does the mouth need to look like that?
A) I don't have Tomahawk (I know, I regret passing him up) B) the commissioner specifically requested I go by a panel from a comic, and the mouth and eyes were made to reflect that piece of art.
I see... Well, if you so happen to make a head sculpt for Springer, I'm sure a lot of folks would buy into it.
Do you have the Tomahawk mold? I can't design a head for it without the specs for the toy, namely how big the head can possibly be, and how it fits in Alt.mode among other things. I did just reopen for commissions, after all.
Could you do an example of those null-rays in generations thundercrackers blue color? I might buy a pair if they his color scheme =D
That's as close as i could get to matching TC's shade of blue. Of course, since Shapeways prints in whatever material you select, you'll need to paint it yourself.
Just postings to say that school is over! I've passed all my exams (in the sense of time, I've quite literally passed them, I just hope I get more than 50%), and School's no longer screwing with my life! Let's get back to designing! Commissions are OPEN!
Hey guys, hate to bump an old thread, but i just got my computer back from repairs (yippee! It works again!), so designing is now almost back on track. I'll probably take a bit longer due to uni, though. Oh, and i updated the front page to be far more relevant to what's going on.
