I'm all for mixing up color pallets for repaints, but this one is just straight up ugly.  

 

Those are some nice colors. And his helmet looks like it's painted silver to me, awesome.

 

Eeee gads, that's not good IMO. The face and the gray parts kill him.

When I saw alt mode pics a while ago I was impressed. 1 I like this mold and 2 it had blue angels colors, but then I saw robot mode and I just can't get over the awful palette they chose for this figure. I guess I'll pass on this one...

This is pure win. I am really impressed with this repaint and is more of what I was hoping for...

 

I don't mind the recolour but I really HATE the brown for the limbs.

 

Good God, that's hideous - who the hell thought that colourscheme worked? Talk about a random character selection...

If I didn't have both Dreadwind and Jetfire, this would've been on my want list. However two of this mould is enough for me at this time, unless Hasbro dramatically remoulds it or it receives a spectacularly appropriate repaint.

 

Looking at the pictures more intently, I don't mind the brown generally (or the rest of the palette), but those brown pieces down the side of the nose are a bit of an eye-sore.

You know, Jetfire was a phenominal mold, but it was clearly jetfire and every repaint and re-mold I see...I still just see Jetfire.

 

But doesn't GPS effect bronze plastic as well? I can't really tell if that brown or bronze, tho.

 

Pass. I kinda like the jet mode colors, but everything goes horribly wrong in bot mode. I'm also not keen on buying three of the same mold, and I've already got two of this one who look good in both modes.

That said, I'd totally buy that Leozack. Or a Darkwing repaint.

 

No, GPS only affects certain kinds of gold plastic, the type that have the swirls in them. It becomes brittle very easily and breaks. While there are other instances of different colored plastics breaking with ease, it is not the same as GPS as they do not detiorate the way the GPS plastic does.

I have to tell you, if you can tell the quality of plastic by just looking at it you should be making a ton of money with that skill.

With the right repro-labels, this guy feels like he might work with my Shattered Glass Autobots.

 

On one hand the Jetfire mold is easily one of the best TF molds ever in my opinion but on the other the colors are.....different. Probably the first Universe toy I will not instantly have to have.

 

Wow. That....certainly doesn't look like the same yellow on him that made him look cool when he was first announced.  

 

The jet mode is gorgeous. Still looks like a fatty in bot mode, though.
