Any thoughts on a fair price for a loose TM Megatron? He's complete, but no box or instructions. Joints are good, one nick in chrome turbines (good otherwise), and no sign of GPS...yet...

    Thanks in advance.

    Depends on which version

The original purple one can be found pretty easily,I see one popping up on the sales posts from time to time for about $15 loose and $30 MISB but the varient blue metallic one goes for a higher price, around $50 to $100 or higher depending on where you buy it.

I would be extremely careful if you get a Hasbro TM Megs. Like, don't even look at him.

Oh yeah, I'm asking because I'm selling one and had no idea what to price it at. I've owned three: first snapped in the hands of an ex before I even knew what GPS was. Bought another and parted the two together into one good bot. Then I think I found a third at the garage sale w/o a tail, which I had an extra one of from the second bot.

And yes, I'm petrified to touch mine -- and to transform the one that's for sale to show the guy that it's not (yet) broken! ;)

Thanks for the help guys. I was initially thinking about $20 as that's the low on shmax and I see junkers on Ebay for $12-$15.

I second that. I got one at a toy show a few months ago for 15 bucks loose and complete. He was in mint condition. I transformed him twice and his plastic just cracked and disinigrated in my hand. I was very upset. I have one MISB that I refused to open so I bought the spare and it lasted a week.

I have TM Megatron but I'm afraid to transform him. I like the mold overall so I picked up an Armada Predacon. I've considered trying to do a parts swap between the two to get a Megatron that won't break (I guess it's the dark brown parts of Megatron that break?).

I don't think Takara's TM Megs has the GPS-like issues the Hasbro one does, but don't quote me on that.

This is news to me, didnt know it had issues. My TM Megatron broke at the waist when I transform him back in 2003. I was so bum out for awhile. I thought I turn too hard or something.

    Guess I'm not alone now.

I don't have firsthand experience with it but the word is that Takara's release of Transmetal Megatron does *not* have the GPS (well, brown more than gold really) issue.

    It doesn't.

Which is why I'm killing myself trying to find one for a good price.
