Wow, this is disappointing. My Overturn is coming this Saturday so I haven't done it myself but it seems like the extra parts won't fix it. This is my first 3P combiner and I figured TFM would have had them down by now considering this is their third one.

Looks like I'm passing on their Defensor until all figures are out and I know whether or not it can stand.

I can't understand how one can be a Transformers collector and not own a dremel.

This really does hurt the defensor. I own 4 of this scales combiners. I'm on a buying freeze of combiners for a year. I feel like things are evolving quickly in the mp combiner range and a game changer is on the horizon.

It would be easier to just bury my head in the sand and keep buying the scale, but this regression is unforgivable

No, I remember people asking you questions about it and hoping it was just your copy.

Don't jump into conclusions too quickly... Wait until you have completed Havoc. It seems that the experience for some are bad and for others are a lot better... :)

True, I'm hoping with the "fix" mine will be okay but I'm seeing enough people with problems that I am worried. Guess I'll find out Saturday.

I have two sets and I still feel confident about my purchase! Havoc has stronger hips than Ordin and my beloved Abominus stays just fine! And the forward leaning has a fix that is "supposed" to work, so be positive!

Here's mine after installing the replacement shin parts:

Stands up like a champ (as skullface would say). Configuration is one click on the hips and one click on the knees. no outward click on the hips.

Here's the A-stance equivalent of the above configuration. Still can stand on its own but too risky for me as he begins to slide and wobble a bit. i'm using a tamashi stage act stand to support it. works great and takes the hefty load off the hips and ankles.

So yeah, not so stable for me, which is an important aspect of combiners. but man, does he look awesome! That outweighs the negative just a bit, for me.

I haven't bought one. There, is it more understandable now?

As for the lean... I'm not bothered by it. Posing him you need some knee bend and be a bit creative with angling his hips but the result looks awesome. From the front I don't even notice it, just from the sides the pose is MAYBE a bit 'off'. It could probably be better and maybe the replacement pieces help but I am in no mood to put work into fixing parts that are supposed to fix something themselves.

I think you're right and the next generation of combiner teams is imminent. I am also going to try controlling my impulse buying with these.

Yeh I don't intend to replace the 'shins' as I'm ok with how he is. Other than the loose left feet swivel (which works better now after tightening the ankle screw) havoc is pretty stable for me. Just need to find a good balancing point when posing, like any other figures.

I really marveled at how awesome his transformation was and how clever and ingenious they were with all of the functionality and I think that is why you are having the problems now. Engineering wise, this one just does so damn much that every part is a triple changer and that leads to its weakness. I hope everything gets worked out because it is a shame that these damn things cost so much and we as a group always immediately identify the simplest of things that should never have happened. It is beyond frustrating how so much love and care and time could have gone into making it without 10 minutes of actually playing with it.

I’m glad that all the negativity has not turned off your excitement. I still love this set with great engineering and good balance of complex/fun transformations. Needs some adjustments but gotta expect that going in for 3rd party toys. Enjoy them!

I pose all my combiners with stands. So the lean is a non issue. These things are too expensive to have accidentally fall over or something.
