The preview footage seen by invited audiences recently did feature the 'classic' transformation sound, but this may have just been temporary.

The trailers use a totally different sound for the effect, so we won't know for sure until the movie arrives.

I would be dissapointed if they used the original sound by itself. I doesn't sound like a real robot transforming.

But from what we've seen in the trailers, it sounds like they do use real "transforming" sounds. (ie. gears, metal scraping against metal, locking noises...)

i thought i read somewhere that they're gonna use the original G1 sound, but doctor it to better fit the movie transformation. so the original sound is probably a small part of the whole transforming sequence...

They better use the original standard sound. Otherwise it is not Transformers.

I hope they use it as well, but if they do just mix it in with the gears and metal noises, I at least hope you can hear it loud and clear, and not; "Dude, the sound is there! You just have to put your ear to a giant speaker and turn it up all the way, then play it 5,004 times!!"

Erm, may I ask what was sarcastic about either one of those comments? I actually asked if he was the one being sarcastic, and the post following mine realized how ridiculous the statement was if he WASNT being sarcastic.

Having just seen both trailers on TV yesterday, I don't think they used the G1 sound. It almost sound like the variation sound used in like Armada or Energon

I think they are keeping this hidden until the release. Was thinking about this on the train the other day. One thing that I thought they might do is change the sound but, in some hidden way, we will hear the G1 sound. Like it will come on the radio or something while Sam is in Bumblebee.

Not sure how the G1 sound would transfer over to the movie. There were specific moves related with specific sounds/notes in the original sound. Will be interesting to see what, if anything, they decide to do.

they'll blend the sound in probably, but the transformations are going to be alot longer in the movie then they ever were on the show

I thought that during the 25 minute screening they did for invited guests only that Tony Bacala said there was the G1 transformation sound but it was extremely beefed up...Im sure the thread is here somewhere..

Also...I have found that the Transformation sounds are located all over the net...However I have yet to find one that I could download to my PC...someone had mentioned that Firefox could be tricked (i.e. you had to change an extension or something) into downloading it to your drive...If anyone knows how to do this I would be extremely appreciative if you could share. I want the sounds to be my boot up and shutdown audio....

    till' all are one...

You can hear the first few 'notes' of it when you hear Blackout start to transform in the trailer and teasers.
