The robot mode of the tanks is a little, well, y'know... Still, can't have everything.

 

Robot modes and cool alt modes...almost makes me wish I still had the single pcc I did get..almost because I expect a 100+ dollar price which makes them unable to save pcc for me.

Normally I'm not one of those "3rd Party Are Doin' It Better Than Hasbro!" folks... but in this case, I think it's hard not to admit that the 3rd party mopped the floor with the pros. Those little guys look better as limbs, AND they have robot modes. No contest.

I think PCC's would have had a wholly different reception had the drone-bots ditched the automorph gimmick in favor of robot modes. Even simple little Legends-style robot modes would have done it.

A legends class with a scout or deluxe torso would be ok with me. I liked it back in the day and I would like it now. People push for deluxe size everything but if Hasbro would have went this route with pcc it would have been win all around.

 

And there price ??
I see the price being about 60$ for the set maybe less ( i based this off of their targeroids sets at RK)

From what I heard, the big issue is gestalts being cost effective. Hasbro can't make them if they lose money. That's why the rid train bots were never recolored or reissued.

A Hasbro rep said they were hearing our requests for gestalts and found a way to give us something... Albeit a bit of a compromise. The way they made it at an affordable price point was the drone limbs. Lots of play value and a fairly big toy for a surprisingly cheap price.

Case in point, these new awesome limbs are going to be over a hundred. That's great for collectors but not the masses or little kids... Their real demographic. Yeah these are awesome, but way more than the $20 box sets.

Tough balance to find. Have to make a profit, please the fans, and innovate a bit as well.

How so i really dont think this set will be more than $60 maybe even less

 

same here gonna have to go to tjmaxx or ross and see if they have any,

 

Cost effective how? Put in ports and tabs like g1 and make the limbs turn into simple robots, like this third party did, and have add on accessories. Pretty much same material amount , less engineering and a better market then PCCs.

 

i dont get how small companies can put out amazing products like this and hasbro cant. its just amazing. i love how this looks and works!
cant wait to see more pics. powercore combiners had so much potential its sad really.
