I hope it adds to the back story of the novel and not retell it.

From what I can tell from the back page, Don's back to his great style. I don't know if we will get a collector's edition over here, but if we do, this comic needs to be part of it.

I hope they don't muck the revised origin up with to much Cartoon Universe sillyness.

Sounds a lot like Megatron: Origin, which isn't a good thing.

I'm sure they can't screw up the same story twice though :)

Doubtful. The comic is based upon the WFC book, which apparently references The Thirteen*. Then of course there's the whole working class revolution thing that was occassionally a comic origin for the G1 civil war, but not in the original cartoon.

*Speaking of The Thirteen, there was comic book that Simon Furman was supposedly writing about the group that was announced way back in 2008, as part of the hype build up for ROTF. I guess Hasbro had that shelved when Revenge of the Fallen changed it to "the Seven Primes".

16 pages? Aren't they normally a little longer?

Not really, I heard it was being refined. There are The First 13 and 7 of them are Primes. Once I heard about this game, I figured they were saving it for this series instead of plowing it into the IDW-verse.
