I know Mastermind Creations is spending a lot of effort making Transformers based on IDW's HoS, but when will someone start adapting Don's designs from Dreamwaves crossover? Don did some awesome redesigns, but unfortunately, all I can find is this Bumblebee - Does anyone else know where the other designs may be online? Am I the only one who thinks some of these would be great toys?
I'm not a Joe follower, so I'm not certain if this is part of what you're lookng for, but there is a 3rd party Rolling Thunder Optimus Prime expected at some point. Xovergen Supreme Tactical Commander Exclusive Green - Transformers News - TFW2005
I did see that, but it's not based on any of the designs for that crossover. I believe in that one, Prime was some big artillery truck, Soundwave had radio telephone alt mode, Shockwave was a missile-launching train car. Don did redisgns of a lot of them, but I can't find more pictures on here. Heck, even Megatron was redesigned as a different German pistol.
the grand patriot is a Don design, but for a different comic. (IIRC.) but that IS a start, and like we have seen with the HoS Optimus and now the Insecticon squad, this could lead to JoeFormers of some kind. the major obstacle to this (as with all 3rd party companies) is pricing for the fans. and really, this will cause 2 fan bases to really fight for 'em.
I certainly hope that they continue that trend, maybe making the Megatron Dominator next. I'm not a huge fan of Bumblebee, but the sheer imagination it took to make him a motorcycle with a sidecar is inspiring and I WANT THAT TOY!
There's a few over at Don's Deviant Art page. Otherwise, they are scattered around the internet. Otherwise- I'd love some of these cross-over toys. I think Frenzy_Rumble was gonna attempt that Bumblebee. I myself have tried to design a 3D Grimlock myself.
Unfortunately, I can't get to his DeviantArt page easily here at work. I'll check it out when I get home, and I'll look through the trade and see if anymore are in there. Were you going for a Grimlock design from the comic? What was he based on?
I was there just a few minutes ago. Actually, there was even less than I thought. donfig's deviantART gallery Yes, I was going for the TF / Ji Joe WW2 Grimlock. However, I was going off a Mark V tank, where Don's was a Mark VIII (Indiana ones). http://donfig.deviantart.com/gallery/?offset=96#/d2lp3er
I didn't realize that was his WWII design, how far did you get on it? I certainly hope that Xergeon (or whatever they're called) keeps going on this TF/Joe crossover after their Rolling Thunder comes out.
