Even by the standards of when it came out, the storage capacity on those things was extremely low. They're a transformer first, and a USB drive second.

The Ravage USB is really great looking but only has 2G capacity and the KO'd version is very common nowadays (and doesn't look as good).
Even if you found a real legit one please be warned, they are a little bit fragile.
My Ravage broke his jaw and then his body came into pieces, though the body split in the seams were it was assembled so I guess that is easy remedied.
I do have the repaints of that mold (Tigertron and Cheetor) and they are still fine, though I treat them like fine china so that might be it.

I love the TF USB drives. I still let Tigertron roam around my screen.

I have one of the 32GB Ravages (possibly a KO). It transformers great, works great. No complaints. Believe you can find them on eBay up to 64GB if you look.

The only official Ravage has a 2GB capacity. If yours has more, it is a KO.

Gotcha. Has anyone compared them? Is there a visible difference between the two?

There are actually two different kinds of knock offs.

The first is very close to the actual release, having a similar body and head, though the legs are a different color.

The second version looks like crap, having a longer and thinner body with an oval shaped head. Because of the different body, it looks hollow when transformed into bot mode.

The second version is the one that most people are selling.

Another problem is that most ebay sellers of this item are non-English speaking Chinese and also idiots.

Most auctions for the item all have the same pictures. Pictures that most of the sellers claim they took themselves. And these same pictures are actually of all three versions- stock photos of the Takara version and photos of both versions of the knock off.

If you send them a message asking which version they are actually selling, responses ignore that to tell you, "hi friend. our item is real not fake."

Checking the feedback for these users usually shows several unhappy buyers that say the item is not what was pictured.

Also going by the feedback, buying these as a usb drive is not a good idea because the drives are sometimes either cheap quality or they aren't the size listed in the auction.

There's even an amazon listing that has the same problem as the ebay listings.
Amazon.com: Transformer 4gb Usb Flash Drive: Everything Else

That looks good, until you check the company's feedback page, where people are complaining that the item pictured was not what they got. More specifically, one person says he knows he was ordering a knock off but it isn't anything close to what was pictured, which would indicate the person is selling the second version.

So unless you like the hollow looking version, you might not want to bother with it.

What Matt described is exactly what happened to me with my KO Ravage. I got the crappy one though the good one was pictured in the auction. I made a stink about it with the seller and he ended up refunding my money.

I have the second one pictured, at higher GB rate than the 8GB pictured, but it's still the same model. Had never seen the first one so I didn't mind the second model. Still honestly don't mind on this one. The plastic is extremely solid, transforms well, and has the proper memory storage space.

I'm someone else who bought the official ravage and had it break apart in several places - not impressed by the plastic quality (especially for the high price)

My Ravage also broke a leg and a jaw, the plastic takara used was not of the usual standard and quite fragile, the same with tigatron, his jaw started to break but was re-enforced with glue in time. I don't know about Cheetor but if you get one of the first two versions then be careful.

Whatever happened to these guys Western release? there were solicitations but I don't recall anyone saying they managed to find one.
