Well, what I meant was the idea for some users to take a generic bot/con and play as him the entire campaign, switching between them after they being killed off. And if you'll ask me, then I've already made my choice...it seems that Artork312 chose Decepticon Dropkick as his character..

Like Faf said, I claimed Dropkick, however you can use Swindle and make his story from a grunt to a name.

 

Oh well, at least I don't lose anything. Well, maybe the chance of missing much of a plot and my character being killed in the middle of a campaign by human character shooting in his crotch...Well, the 2007 movie line don't have any suitable decepticons for me, so I'll choose another bot or con...

Yeah, it's like to give a personality to a brick. Brick has no personality, and so does the Swindle in 2007 toyline.

Personality:

Ramjet bristles with high-tech weaponry, including an arsenal of deadly missiles and bombs as well as his lethal vibro-claws. He's all kinds of crazy and violent. Whereas other Decepticons do their fighting in grim silence, Ramjet simply blows everything around him to smithereens, laughing maniacally every step of the way, which is all that Megatron asks out of him. But what he really loves to do is hit people with his head. The more he does this, the more his own cerebral circuitry gets rattled, and the better an idea it seems like next time.
Unlike his fellow seekers, Skywarp and Thundercracker, Ramjet can't really be trusted, and doesn't really believe in the Decepticon cause. An opportunist at heart, Ramjet's only in it for the power and favor, and he doesn't care who he has to shoot in the back to get it. However, not surprisingly, he's not really good at being a schemer, unlike his old colleague Starscream, whom he despise. In truth, he just simply sides with whoever he thinks has the bigger guns.

Weapons and Abilities:

Ramjet has great strength, amazing endurance and resistance to damage.
He's heavily armored throughout his body and especially his nosecone, which can shrug off an impact with a 5-foot concrete wall at 1500 mph with no ill effects. In jet mode he flies at the speeds of Mach 3,6 and is armed with two cluster bomb launchers. As a robot he has retractable vibro-claws and plasma cannons, that are built in his forearms. Also he has a glitch in his pain processor wiring, which gives him an amazingly high pain threshold.

I know we have a strict limit on how many major characters we can control at a time, but the thought occurs to me - does that rule apply to characters that move the plot along in spite of not being major, like, say, Captain Archibald Witwicky?

Personality: There are many things Big Daddy doesn't do. And for starters, that's this whole intergalactic war thing. Is he an Autobot, born and raised? Sure. Does he pummel Decepticons from time to time? Yes. Does he fight in this war? Sometimes. But he doesn't do fighting. Instead, Big Daddy likes to totally trick out his vehicle mode, take it to the beach, the mall, or wherever, and show off his sleek, delicious chrome. You know what I'm saying, daddy-o? And fighting? War? Why take a one-day trip to smashville when all it's gonna do is uglify your face and dent your ride? Nah, see, Big Daddy don't do that. Big Daddy does his own thing, you catch my drift? It don't matter who's ordering him, Big Daddy doesn't listen to "The Man". Big Daddy don't do it the Autobot way. Big Daddy does it the Big Daddy way.

And you can play as a human character or wait for other movie arcs to pick your bot or con, mate.
And my advice would be simple - when you'll choose your character, you can give him unique personality and through the events you can even save him or her and have the opportunity to have fun...if you'll follow the rules.
Also, your character design isn't suppose to be the carbon copy of the original, and Ramjet can be a nice example for you.
