A new post surfaced yesterday on MTV's Movie Blog webpage regarding the Transformers Movie. Josh Duhamel spoke with MTV news regarding a not yet seen Apple iPod Transformer from the movie. An excerpt from the interview reads:

“The Transformer that will steal all the scenes I would say is this little iPod thing, [it’s] crazy,” he enthused. “It’s pretty cool.”...But just because he’s small, that doesn’t mean this Transformer shouldn’t be taken seriously. “It’s like this crazy little 12-inch iPod that turns into this little killing machine,” he divulged.

On reflection, he could be! Silly Josh.

 

I must confess, i've never seen a 12 inch iPod...... I suspect it's another 'Top secret Razor Jet' thing.

 

Eh, anyone who read the script knew about this, like I did.

I wish it'd be a realistic robot like the real gears, but let's face it, chances are higher that it'll be more like a robot chicken-skeleton, like Frenzy.

I don't think I'll spoil much if I tell you this thing will have a very short appearance.

 

He's clearly talking about Frenzy.

I took it as, "It's like the crazy 12-inch (transformed) iPod that ends up being a little killing machine". How could someone in this day and age confuse iPod with stereo? And we've seen franzy, he's not 12 inches...

 

No he isn't.

Is Frenzy an iPod? No.

I don't think it's a 12" i-pod, more of an i-pod that becomes a 12' robot

And yeah, I thought this was common knowledge by now.

 

Officially licensed iPod, or is he just using the word iPod like we use "kleenex" or "q-tip"? I imagine the latter.

 

Assuming he's talking about Frenzy, how great is it that the crew knows so much about the Transformers. I think this was the guy who was on Ellen? Assuming Im right 2 things struck me. 1 he had an Optimus toy on Ellen, Classics, not movie. 2 Also he clearly hadn't really seen one before. Or at least not in many years. I dont think being a TF fan is necessary to being a good actor in this movie. But if you were a kid in the 80's there is no excuse for not being somewhat familiar with the merch and characters. By the way there are no 12" ipods. Sorry.

 

Yeah that pretty much is what happens in the script. I think there's a plasma screen telly as well. The realism in this film is pretty much on par with 'Starscream's Brigade'  

 

Are there foot-long Ipods? No.

The question isn't whether Frenzy isn't an ipod... it's whether Josh Duhamel actually knows what he's talking about.  

My bet is that he's talking about Frenzy. But with all the Allspark stupidity going on, I could see an ipod making an appearance.
