Alamo Drafthouse
Those of you not local to Austin should know that this showing will be held by the Alamo Drafthouse on Austin's famous Sixth Street. The Alamo Drafthouse is a chain of theaters where one may have meals and beer (and at this location liquor) served to you during the movie. Until the live action film came out, the Alamo was showing TF:TM every year. They celebrated the opening of the live action movie with an appearance by Robosaurus, the closest thing to booking a real Transformer we may ever see. This place is great, and deserves your support.
Master Pancake Theater
The comedians of Master Pancake Theater imitate Mystery Science Theater 3000 and make fun of movies - live. I have seen many shows by these comedians, while they went by Mister Sinus Theater and The Sinus Show. They can be quite funny.
Sixth Street
A well known 'entertainment district'. Parking is terrible, and on weekend - when these showings will be running - the street is closed off. Expect to pay for parking and to walk a little.

I encourage every TF fan in the central Texas area to go!

This is freaking bullshit, those hacks make money by yelling at a movie yet all I get for doing the same in the screening room are bad words.

 

Save money on parking. Just go buy the Rifftrax audio to go with the movie. Guaranteed to be better. Unless you like paying to sit quietly in a room with smart-aleck jackasses.

Oh right, they've only gotten about two and a half years to come up with the same crappy jokes everybody else has already made.

 

If it was actuallty the MST3K guys, it might be worth going. But if I want to see people I've never heard of slagging the movies off I'll just read the movie forum, kthx.

I love an MSTing in general, and these (local) guys are good. Possibly not as good as the men who invented MST3K, but better than a troll on the forum, so I'm not worried.

 

Um, no. Leslie FTL. Leslie said he/she blacked out, actually. He doesn't, erm, she doesn't know how he/she got injured. Probably drinking like a fish or on drugs, like most of the knuckle-dragging, UT-worshipping troglodytes in Austin, aka "Freakville".

But that's just an educated guess.

mockery by local comedians is the single greatest threat the monolithic hasbro corporation has ever faced. we must be unilateral in our condemnation for these unspecified individuals telling potentially terrible jokes some place somewhere.

satire has no place in the transfandom.  

 

Some well thought out satire might be good, but it has to be well presented.

Doing it in a drunk state with a drunk audience is imo NOT the way to do it; that's more decadent than ROTF itself which is supposed to be a popcorn flick, not a platform for encouraging alcohol.

 

Yeah, I wouldn't want to watch a bunch of drunks mock the movie..
