Ever since the final 5 was announced, I've been working on as many possible Erector repaints as possible. Here is my first batch of them. Hasbro, Takara, Botcon/Funpub, Kitbashers, Repainters, ko bootleggers: THESE NEED TO BE. Show your support for Erector!

Some notes:

As for the legends, The Cybertron Optimus Prime repaint is probably my favorite Legend version, which would be a suitable replacement for a Micromaster.


As for the Energon Duststorm repaint, this one is probably my favorite of the bunch for a modern reinterpretation of Erector


For the Power Core Combiners Huffer repaint, this would come with a yellow Backwind minicon. The minicon's lineart is garbage so i couldn't include it. It can be mounted on the back of the truck as a makeshift crane.


For the Armada Smokescreen'Liftor repaint, If the minicon was even included, he could be Drivetrain or something.


For the Energon Rodimus repaint, Ideally, his gun would be replaced with the energon axe/hook crane from Strongarm. I think in both cases, the weapons are on individual mold sprues and this could actually be done.


For the Armada Overload repaint, I imagine the minicon would be Erector, and his large combined form would be Erectus Maximus or something equally ridiculous.


I have another batch coming up in a few more days. I really wanted to do a repaint of the Energon Roadblock mold, but the lineart is unchanged (mostly, and what is changed is piss poor at that) from Inferno. But really, he's pretty damn close to Erector as it is. Yellow crane truck with redish windows? Remove the silver paint and replace the brown with gray and he's a damn good Erector. He's probably be the easiest for someone to physically repaint (or you can just swap the brown parts for Inferno's silver/gray)

EDIT: Just realized my favorite pic of the bunch, the Eng Duststorm vehicle mode pic (the one that IMO makes the best Erector) was missing. Fixed.

Utterly awesome. I think Thunder Clash would be an interesting figure to repaint as Erector.

Yes, I know about the Cyb/Movie Mudflap Erector repaint, and that is in fact the makeshift Erector in my collection. While I might do some things a little differently, I think that one is a good enough try that I'm not even going to attempt one with the mudflap mold, just because it would be a bit redundant. The problem is, it's just too big of an ERECTOR. We need a small ERECTOR. An easier to handle ERECTOR. An ERECTOR that could, say, fit in your pocket. (Ok, enough of those joke for now)

As for the suggestions, I don't have any line art for Machine Wars Optimus prime/Thunderclash, so I can't do that one, but it would be fun to try if I did. I never considered RiD Towline, and I have the lineart for that somewhere so I'll give that a try. RiD Ultra magnus...I have a personal distain for that mold so I probably won't try it with that one out of sheer spite. Cyb Metroplex, i might give it a try. I was never a fan of the mold but I have the lineart and it would be cool to have an enormous Giant Planet ERECTOR towering over all. (Damn it, we did it again)

Eng Leader Optimus prime, possibly with an Omega Supreme repaint, just so we can have an Erector Supreme
Possibly RiD Hightower (Though with the yellow walmart repaint, it again might be too redundant)
A Couple minicons Along with some others

I just bought a TFTM Mudflap and painted the face red (which looks a whole lot better, despite the crappy paintjob I did) for my Classics Erector. However, I really like that Duststorm digibash. I'd buy it.

This honestly should be the name for the fourth movie/reboot also this is really epic!

 

The Legends Cybertron Prime and Overload redecoes are the best. I would seriously buy the Overload one instantly if it was ever released at retail.
