The Return of Megatron *Note: This fiction is set directly after The Return of Optimus Prime, the 2 part season finale of The Transformers Season 3 Prologue: The mighty Optimus Prime had returned to the Autobots and retaken back the Autobot Matrix of Leadership. Its power and knowledge had been exhausted after curing the plague and for the last year had been travelling via Space Bridge back and forth from Earth to Cybertron to refill its databanks. With Cybertron at peace Metroplex, the Autobot City has housed many of the “young” Autobots as they have assisted human kind with technology to help in such things as construction and medicine. After the Great Battle that saw many of his friends and even himself fall offline, Optimus has consumed his days with the Matrix and has left the City Commander Ultra Magnus to take up the day to day leadership duties at Metroplex. Optimus has been distant from his fellow Autobots who now do not consider themselves soldiers but more civilians of two worlds. Prime spends more of his time on Cybertron thinking of lost friends, and of finally a war that has ended. He thinks to himself that he can hardly remember the time before the war and that it is really all that he knew. Prime scans countless old facilities trying to repopulate the data on the Matrix, and as always has his two “bodyguards” with him. The bot to his left, his advisor Kup. This Cybertronian is the oldest known bot and at Optimus request helps him recall ancient times. To his right, Optimus’ apprentice, the young Hot Rod. Rod who before Optimus returned was Rodimus Prime and led the Autobots against Galvatron’s Decepticons. Although Hot Rod yearns to be on Earth with his friends and to be speeding through fields and on open roads he knows he must learn from the great leader if he was to leave them again. On Earth, Ultra Magnus stays vigilant if there was to be an attack on his adopted world. Although Galvatron had ordered a cease fire, he cannot be trusted and although many Autobots had given up their arms, he is ready if needed. Magnus as all Autobots know the Decepticons all too well. And it is only a matter of time before they strike again. On the palnet Char, the many believed insane Galvatron walks down a huge corridor. Cyclonus accompanies him as he asks if his army has been replenished enough for the first stage of his attack. The second in command tells Galvatron that the Decepticon army is ready to go in to battle at his command. Excellent he says as he looks down onto a huge cavernous opening where the stolen head of the planet eater Unicron sits! A reformatted Soundwave tells Cyclonus that the space bridge they used to steal the head is back on line after the huge energon drain to transport it. The Cybertron Autobots had alerted Prime to this and Springers troops the Wreckers were sent out to investigate its disappearance. But the Decepticons have used the power still stored in the carcass of Unicron to not just rebuild themselves but to evolve their weapon systems and update their strength. They are a new breed of Decepticon now and just like Galvatron, Cyclonus and Scourge are stronger than the previous model of Decepticon. Galvatron maniacally laughs as his army is indeed ready to attack his hated enemies.
