    Howdy,

I found this on IGN while browsing,

    http://dvd.ign.com/articles/710/710505p1.html

It appears that the original '86 movie is getting a re-release this November to coincide with the new Classics line. Apparently it'll be loaded with special features, including behind-the-scenes, new footage, and a bunch of other stuff. I think it's been known for awhile that the movie was going to get a re-release at some point in the future, but this is the first news I've heard about what it'll contain, and when it will be released, so correct me if I'm wrong.

Sounds like the definite version of the film to get!

Argh, I hate having to buy any movie on DVD twice, but I'll probably pick this up if the extras are nice.

Does this mean that Sony has the DVD rights to all the Sunbow shows now? I don't remember exactly what happened to those after Rhino lost them.

I hope they give it a cool new cover, like the one Don Figueroa did for the Madman/Australian dvd release in 2003.

Did they find the widescreen transfer? That's all I really want to know.

I say let the uninitiated feel what I felt in 1986. That was the first time I muttered "What the F" in my mother's presence.

Can't wait. I've skipped out on buying it for the longest time because of this rumor. Hope it never sees Blu-Ray release, along with every other movie though.
