i was watching it on dvd sometime ago, watching the fan commentary version and one of the guys said he ran transformer world 2005.

who was that, cuz you guys were talking about the movie and noticing all these things, but no one said anything about wrek-gar riding himself in the junkion attack scene.

wrek-gar,in robot mode,is riding a vehicle version of himself.

for some wierd reason ive been dying to point that out to you (tfw guy)

I'm not sure who the commentator was, but Wreck-Gar isn't riding himself there. All the Junkions in the scene transform into motorbikes (as you may have noticed :p ), and have similar colourschemes - Wreck-Gar's just riding one of his fellow Junkions, just as all the other Junkions are (who aren't being ridden).
Did you also notice where one of the Junkions got knocked of his bike - he transformed into a bike himself, the bike transformed into its rider, and they carried on fighting.

The commentators were myself, Tony_Bacala, J.E. Alvarez (of the TF Collectors' Club) and Paul Hitchens (of thespacebridge.net). Wreck-Gar was not riding himself. Many of the Junkions in the film used the same or similar character model sheets to make things easier on the animators.

We were very meticulous about what we did and did not point out as Paul was kind enough to bring a large amount of material for us to review prior to us doing the commentary itself. This included all the character model sheets as well as the original shooting script.

Oh and the film was 1986, not 1985.

    oops,1986?i feel dumb...

but the bike wrek-gar was riding on did look like wrek-gars bike mode though.thats what i ment.

i was thinking that they did that cuz he dosnt transform in the movie and they wanted to show off his vehicle mode somehow or something.

also,i just joined tfw and everyones been pretty cool to me,its been fun.
and im a movie commentary geek, and i thought you guys did a great fan commentary(i listned to it more than the other commentary).it was cool hearing fans talk about it and geek out.heh heh

It was a fun experience to do. And I always appreciate hearing that people enjoyed the commentary.

There in the window.. go back a frame. prepare to stop frame. no so far. go back. In the window of the quintesson spaceship for nearly one frame or two frames snarl appears in robot mode.

    That info was hilariously nerdy.

it was pretty cool.you can tell when a fan talks about transformers cuz they get into the characters and the story.

all bay talked about on the live action movie commentary was how great a filmmaker he was and how he had the pentagons phone number or something.

that movie should have had a fan commentary too.

They were going to ask Twin-Twist to do Commentary, but they didn't want the entire movie to be a series of Beeps. :D

I agree though, I bought this DVD and I now own the Bluray to it, but I'm still holding on to the Sony DVD release. I was REALLY dissapointed when they closed shop. I wanted to see what they would have done with G1 series DVDs

I thin kthe fan commentary was a ton better than the filmmakers commentary. When that one guy kept popping in for a few seconds just to tell us exactly what's happening on screen with absolutely no inside information, I felt like I was getting cheated.

That, and the reason Minicons appear not to speak English is because their English is comprised of profanities strung together into sentences :D
