Thanks to Milo Lopez of Transformers Chile Facebook Group we have a report for a Transformers: The Last Knight Toyline Launch Event In Chile. South America joins to the international events we have seen these days. The event is called “Ripley Transformers Night”. To participate, fans have to register on Ripley's site from May 4 to May 15 and choose Autobot or Decepticon side. Then you have to wait for you luck to win one of the 75 double tickets. The event will be held at Ripley department store of Mall Costanera Center. There are 75 double tickets. No further details on the event are available yet. If you live in Chile, you can check the conditions here.
Just gonna say, it's pretty sad and a damn shame at how all these other countries are making a big deal over the release of these movie figures, yet nothing happened here in the U.S. Not only that, but from some YouTube videos I've seen, these countries have the figures in bulk, I mean they have a crap ton of them, yet here in the U.S, it took retail stores a few weeks to get their shit together before they realised the figures are supposed to be out yet there still aren't that much. Shame.
No need to be Chile about it ...but bad pun aside, I agree that U.S. is seemingly getting the short end of the stick. There were no Premiere Edition figures stocked on the supposed launch date of April 24th (later learned it was 28th), and once they were stocked, the whole TF section wasn't even 1/5 of one aisle. Hasbro really has cashed in well on its international audience. Sort of related, but here in the U.S., the Mattel Fast and Furious toys are well-stocked. I hear overseas that the only way to obtain them is through promos. I guess distribution really boils down to which countries companies believe can be the most profitable
Hi. Well, we have an event, for the first time ever. And, you say, you do not have the figures now, but we're at the end of the world, we do not have platinum sets, do not have some Rid waves, or generations, or even movie toys; some toys we've never seen in this country or continent, and that happens here all the time. I understand your annoyance, because we live it permanently.
And Chilean fans now get the Autobot Insignia projected all over Santiago, the capital. And over the official government building: "El Palacio De La Moneda". Great for you guys! Hope we could get more pictures of the main event soon.
Shine it on clouds in the sky and you got yourself something similar to the first movie. Still, quite awesome.
The reason is these "films" make most of their money in the third world countries, not here. Just like the countless Fast and Furious movies. Reviewers here HATE them, while others praise them in places like Chile, Brazil, etc. You'd be amazed as to how ridiculously successful these things are abroad.
Aren't Transformers supposed to be Robots in disguis- *Remembers past cartoons and movies when they show theirselves in public* Oh... Also, As being a Chilean myself I would love to be in that event, and I really hope they brought in some TR wave 4 to here.
Now in the tallest building in Santiago: Costanera Center and a video too. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1396977043692782
And finally, the event was held. Chilean fans got a very interesting night with display of movie toys thanks to Transformers Chile Fans Group. They had a big Grimlock there too, and cosplay of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. Assistants had an oppotunity to win packs of free toys. A making-of video of the movie was shown, together with the recent trailer. As we expected, all had an opportunity to buy the new TLK Toys and the official merchandising for the new movie. Here you are some pictures and a video, thanks to Milo Lopez and Dario Andrade.
Lol they actually put sentinel standing over ironhide...and is that a deluxe dotm soundwave at the bottom corner in that same pic?
