They where showing flashback of megatron on planet cybertron when they where fighting on there home planet before megatron flew after the arc in dark side of the moon it's really not that confusing flashback Optimus showing spike was before megatron crashed land on earth still fighting autobots megatron was still in protoform cybertron mode when unthawed at dam.,

Hate to see another director take on first film they probably would have used CGI crap for barricade eyes sticking out in car mode that was shown in video and instead using puppeteer work that bay used new director would use cgi all they way on fenzy up close shots, being Sam back whil sam is running away from frenzy not a lot directors use puppeteers they mostly use cgi crap look at new alien movie looks all cgi less costume from first movie

Lol see you're confused too about Megs movie 1 look and the whole Protoform thing. In the movies, the Protoform IS NOT the same thing as their Cybertronian form. The Protoform is their base look (more or less their Skeleton) under their outer shell (skin). So in the behind the scenes for TF1, they say Megs is in his Protoform. Which means that design in movie 1 WAS NOT his true Cybertronian form. We were looking at his Protoform, his basic "under the skin" form. But when they did the flashback to Cybertron, he was still using the Protoform look when he should not have been.

Example, remember the looks that Jazz, Ironhide and Optimus looked like in movie 1 before they scanned Earth looks? Those were their Protoform looks (thier internal skeletal looks) not their Cybertronian looks.

 

I always thought the Protoform modes the Autobots had in Transfomers 2007 were space suit looking robot modes with a Space pod alternate mode.

Maybe it's just me but I just noticed that they went all out with the cop design for barricades bot mode. Even to the point they added a radio clipped to his chest with a wire that runs to his waist.
