Reasonably long, with enough variation in levels to keep me (a non-gamer) entertained.

But replay value? Probably not so much, except maybe going back through with cheats on. There are three choices of character, but realistically, playing with Op is the only option, especially later on.

As far as replay and length- it's reasonably long. Took me a while because you can't just go through shooting everything. As far as replay value goes, that depends on how throough you are the first time through. There are a lot of minicons spread across the levels and it's pretty fun to try to get them. This can give you weapon upgrades, special abilities like gliding, Defennse enhancements, etc. Sometimes they're also and "extra" that you can check out in the menu once you find them that shows you stuff like art and concept work.

Also note that you can't get EVERY minicon unless you play it on the hardest difficulty.

I beat it with Hot Shot (pretty much playing the whole game with him). Plowing through the enemies with him was a breeze. And since most of the game is offroad, Red Alert would be my next choice. OPP was great in robot mode, but the balance was only in favor of the robot mode.

If anything, this proves that there is a character for everyone's playing style.

there's nothing cooler than driving along and ramming into some losers, jump transforming over them and rocket launchering them in the face as you fly by, then turning around and ramming them again and then rocket launchering the ground where they used to be just so everyone knows you're one bad mother all the while screaming "you suck bitches, feel the power of my mighty cannon gun" and then having a cup of tea and going to bed.

What was stated here is an indication of what can be done with this game and very few others, and what was sorely missing from the Movie game. Also missing from other games is the sheer detail put into the deaths of the cannon-fodder CONS. They explode into pieces, but electricity forks from all of the pieces almost in a vain effort to keep the robot together. The particle Effects and texturing in this game is amazing for a PS2 game, especially on the Autobots and Bosses.

I beat it start-to-finish with Red Alert.

    Pacific Island is cruel.

Yes especially if you choose to go into those bunkers and tempt fate.

Damn I don't know off top of my head...

Amazon, Artic, Decepticon Ship, Amazon 2 (Different level with a huge pyramid), Tropics. Did I miss anything. Also should be noted that these levels are pretty large.

Oh yeah, I definitely forgot one....an...um Aircraft Carrier.

Ok now I want to play it again... Stupid Hasbro, why did they can Melbourne.

    Megatron fight > Unicron fight.

The Unicron fight is kinda goofy. It's cool you get to fight Unicron and save Cybertron, but you just fly into his belly multiple times shooting your SPARKle gun at his core.

But you get the most bad ass power ups in the game for that mission.

Infinite flight, impenetrable force field and a spark cannon.
Imagine what that would do to the normal enemies.

I'm gonna go play that game again.

I was hoping Uniron would be in Robot Mode, you fly in through his mouth and fly all the way down to his stomach and shoot at it. Man i misinterpreted what it said :(

The proposed sequel would have seen Optimus and his crew returning to Cybertron, and arrested as fugitives of something goofy like that. They would have ended up teaming with Megatron and his Decepticons to clear their name.

Sounds cool, the alliance and all. But how do you imagine flying around the planet fighting an attacking robot and saving the place would brand you a criminal? What's more, how would teaming up with a criminal make that any better?!
