Looking forward to picking some of these up.

But this one will never not be funny, hahaha

Hopefully there's a growing playerbase in Melbourne, Aus!

Same boat. One of booster boxes only had 2 rares amongst the 30 packs. Missing both super rares, rare megs and op.

A shame, shouldn't even have super rares, considering the market size

This finally showed up at my local Target. I got the starter set and 5 boosters. Got Cosmos, Bumblebee (SR), Optimus Prime (C), Jetfire, and Barrage.

It looks like you can't buy a whole box of boosters online at GameStop anymore.

We proxy Metroplex (no, it's not released and we don't have an actual copy yet) against the Autobot Starter deck!

Both decks felt fairly even matched against each other. Check out the video to see it in action and subscribe to our channel/like our page to get more updates. We'll have more Metroplex action throughout the week!

This is fun game, let's drum some more talk!

@mightyspacepope you seem to be at the forefront of this game. What are you seeing strategy wise? At my LGS I've been running heavy agro decks and having exceptional success. I'm running a variation of hot wheels, rare op/arcee/skrap and then dinobots. Your crew seems to have the most aggressive attacking decks of the few people posting on youtube. From a competitive standpoint I'm seeing heavy attack as the most viable option. What's everyone else seeing?

If anyone is looking for a competitive cheap deck Wheeljack/Prowl/common Bumblebee is very good. Battle deck rares are also minimal. If anyone is interested I'll post the deck list and theory.

    Here it is:

Characters: Wheeljack, Prowl and common Bumblebee

Battle Deck: 20 upgrades 20 actions. 2 no color, 8 white, 13 blue and 17 orange (3 double).

    Actions
    3x Team-up tactics (b) - r
    2x start your engines (b) - r
    2x I still function (nc) - r
    2x backup plan (w) - u
    2x supercharge (o) - c
    3x incoming transmission (o) - c
    3x leap into battle (b) - c
    3x rapid conversion (w) - c

    Upgrades
    2x energon ax (b) - r
    3x multi-tool (b) - u
    3x grenade launcher (o) - u
    3x turbo boosters (o) - u
    3x multi-mission gear (o) - u
    3x force field (w) - c
    3x improvised shield (2o) - c

The battle deck is pretty much draw and damage. Attack prowl, bee, then wheeljack. You’re setting up a big KO attack with wheeljack on your third turn, like 12+. The characters are all specialist in alt and bee is in bot. Use the “multi” cards to give you a card played advantage. Turbo boosters and start your engines should give you an extra attack with wheeljack or bee before the first untap. Following the first untap you should have one of their characters ko and another well on it’s way. Expect either prowl or bee to be ko at this point. Continue to play the same Tatics, big wheeljack attack last. Transform as the cards in your hand need you too, except you want wheeljack in bot for his attacks. Improvised shields is just for attack flips and deck stacking with incoming transmission.

If you don’t have all the rares energon ax is can be swapped for another blue weapon. You could swap team up tactics for inspiring leadership. Start your engines could be swapped for battle ready, but I’m really not a fan of adding another colorless. You need I still function, I can’t see a way around it.

At the moment, aggressive orange-heavy decks definitely seems to be at the forefront, but it seems like aggro decks usually overperform when it comes to the initial release of a card game (or a new wave of releases for a card game). To be honest, I think the best decks right now are probably Bugs, Rare Prime (probably the variant with Shrapnel/Arcee) and Cars (I think either Hot Wheels or possibly the Cliffjumper/Starter Bee/Prowl/Arcee 4-wide).

As the game continues and as more people start playing (and playing against larger, more varied groups of people), we'll see things start to even out a bit. In an interesting way, I think Metroplex might help even out the field a bit, at least in terms of how he plays against Bugs. Our initial testing is that he does pretty well against them (although bold-focused Hot Wheels seems to bring him down fast).

I still have yet to get this game. I know I know.... I'm Pathetic. But, It's mainly due to the fact I have nobody to play it with. and if I'm going to be honest, no friends to play it with either.

I'm not in any way a part of the Transformers Fandom here in Arizona because of various reasons. (mainly because since I'm on SSI and don't have a job or Vehicle, I'm looked down upon, and treated with a certain amount of disdain because I have a mental illness (BPD) and PTSD (due to past childhood trauma and other traumas suffered as an adult). People would rather not subject themselves to it or my personality as a whole, and aren't willing to even try because they claim they don't have time and that's fine. Their prerogative. Nothing I can do about it as you can't change a personality, you can only modify behavior.

So sadly, for me personally, I don't foresee myself ever buying the game. Which is a huge shame because it really does look fun. I just have no real means to play the game socially or publicly. Because playing games like this require knowing the people to do so, or rather knowing the proper places to go to play the game. I just can't see myself wasting money on it just for the art, that feels a bit depressing to me. I'd rather just keep focusing on the Toys themselves. :D

I really wish the fandom was more friendly and socially acceptable to people like me. but, they just aren't, not really. Most people here (in Arizona especially) are patronizing and way overly passive aggressive with anybody outside their social circles. But in the past, I've not made it easy either (their words not mine). I made many mistakes which I guess are deemed unforgivable. And due to having a very poor self-esteem, I rubbed everybody the wrong way here. and naturally nobody really wants to take the time or make the effort to get to know anyone who they deem to be difficult to deal with or be around, or let's face it, people that they themselves can not relate to in any way. and again, that's fine. If that's the way they choose to be. It's their right as people. IT's just a shame that's the way things are here.

So yeah, unfortunately, I'll never get to experience this game. Also my reasoning for getting out of playing Magic The Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh! too. the groups I've tried to play with acted exactly the same way. and yeah, the gaming crowd has their own forms of Dramatics and politics. A few bad apples out there who love stealing your cards, or destroying them, or stealing your decks you work so hard to build and trying to claim they never did even though you see them using your deck plain as day. I've had dealer friends who've gotten ripped off and stolen from as well during cons and shows.

Apologies for rambling. Really I am. I guess I just had a lot to say on the matter of the game and why it's not possible for me to play it.

A solution might be to try playing on Tabletop Simulator?

I agree, no other strategies really has the support they need right now. The mechanics totally favor the attacker. The defender is stuck in current character mode and with the upgrades they have in play. The attacker gets to play two cards uncontested, transform and benefit from their upgrades in play. Other strategies are going to need something that breaks the mechanics to a degree, like a character that lets you do something to cancel an opponents action or instantly mitigate damage.

I haven't played bugs yet. I assume you have the build on your youtube? I'll have to start testing against it. I'm having really good luck with the other two decks also. I actually think rare Prime and Wheeljack are the two best "centerpiece" of your lineup style characters. Wheeljack is not only great for what he costs, but he might have the best combination of keywords of any character. Car, specialist and melee all have extremely good battle cards that key off them.

I haven't a chance to watch your metroplex videos, I can't wait to see how he does.

Look for stores having tournaments. They'll want the most people they can have. Go play regardless of what anyone says.

I just got given an advance copy of the Metroplex Pack to review on my blog from Hasbro and WOTC.

I don\'t know if I\'m allowed to publish it anywhere other than my blog from the agreement I signed, but I\'m sure they wont mind (I hope) me posting a link to the Blog and putting up at least a couple of pictures for anyone who is interested [IMG]

If I get the OK, I\'ll end up posting the entire review on this site.

What are the measurements on Metroplex? I'm going to get a sleeve for him or something that will work.
