I want the third episode to bring the last Transformers story.
There should be Unicron ultimately reaching Earth and killing off all the surviving Transformers on both sides (say 30 robots each) and Optimus Prime, remaining alone, finds a way to destroy Unicron at the cost of his life.
His death should be one of the most painfull in movie history, so everyone at the theaters will cry for him.

Yeah, I know... "Thank God I'm not the director/producer"

Isn't that just like Optimus Prime sacrificing himself to the Swarm at the end of G2?

    Not profitable, though.

And why should it end? As long as they can keep coming up with good ideas/plotlines/characters, there's no reason why it should be finite.

I think what he means is the movie line should be finite, to which I agree. By all means make new cartoons, toys, comics etc but can we face the uncomfortable fact that few movies survive well beyond their first sequal if they're lucky and successful part III's start making me wonder exactly which contract gets signed first.

However you can mitigate this in one of two obvious ways. Write all three at the same time (Not always feasible) or at least make sure when writing subsequent installments, you don't forget all that has come before it (a cardinal but oft repeated sin in Transformers) so that the films at least feel coherant.

I know what he means, but the Harry Potter series has proved that you can make a series of films whose quality improves film after film. Bond in recent years has proved the same.

Yes, but they don't actually count since they were written as books as a whole over reaching arc before they were filmed. Or at least to the Order of the Phoneix, I don't remember.

Transformers was built from the ground up and few film series done that way remain both financhialy successfuly and halfway good films after two or three movies, obvious exceptions to this are Back to the Future and to a lesser extent Die Hard.

If that does happen chances are we'd see a "reset button" if they wanted to continue or to make a happy ending :(

Good! So you can have another vision of the live Transformers, without corrupting the actual series continuity.
Remaking is not such a Hitler that many depicts.
Batman Begins and Casino Royale are just new continuity, but the previous movies still exist.
A bad example is Star Wars: there are many flaws between episode I to VI and I don't want to see any continuity flaws in the Transformers films.

I'm going to be nitpicky, and mention that was based on a book.

A book. Not an interconnected, concurrently written series of seven books. This is what makes Die Hard impressive for me (4 less so but I know it could have been worse). They take a single basic story, and jazz the hell out of it. Then they make three more stories and until Die Hard 4, each had been better than the last.

I would wanna see that happen but have Megatron still alive and have him an Optimus work together. When they go to kill Unicron from the inside, Unicron tries to sway Megatron to betray Optimus, but refuses and kamikazes Unicron to let Optimus narrowly escape

I wouldn't want so many films that it spoils the franchise and gives it a bad taste. Maybe a 4th but not a 5th. However it could pull a Star Wars and have billions of novels and more figures after it

    Megatron: a good guy?
Maybe would be better to have Megatron betrayed by Unicron.
It's more on characters to have Unicron promising power to Megs just to use him for his purpose.

i think they should make it a nonology, with a cliffhanger ending after the ninth film, then make us wait till we're all 75 to see how it concludes.

Are you kidding?? Harry Potter are getting stale and more boring every years and nobody cares about James Bond franchise anymore...Always the same crap... Bad guys, hiot car, annoying babes and a ''super boring agent that never caught a bullet in 30 year.... Come on. its like with Spider man...The more they do, the less its good!!!! My opinion!!!

For me it should complete a trilogy first, then after that, continue the same story but change the people in charge of doing it to offer a fresh look, do this with eac trilogy that comes out, and hopefully, it can last as long and have as many movies as Star Trek.

there is a flaw in what you said......order of the phinox SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the best of proving that more than 3 films work is star wars, the best movie series EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anyways....i think that top idea is cool....even though i don't want unicron in the movie series....that is a way to make him work.....

or we could have a deadly war take place and transformers getting brutally crushed and blown up...and prime having the ultimate final bout with megatron/galvatron....or whatever they will call him

Now that's a cool idea. There are so many different Transformers Series...maybe after this film trilogy we'll get more films with a fresh look, a different story line/approach...or just hundreds of years in the future like Star Trek.

I definitely have to disagree with you. I thought the HP films were getting lamer and dryer, until Phoenix came out. I thought it was the best one yet. And as for bond...yeah that's all a little ridiculous, that guy should definitely be dead by now. Except that they totally restarted it with a fresh take in Casino Royale, which was a fantastic movie. My opinion!!!
