You can view the item here. The response that I received from them in England is underneath. Soooo Happy, even though the board the track is on is blah.

    I hope this is true.

On the Hasbro tour at Botcon, I inquired to the marketing guy about the different products available in the UK vs. the US--I asked if we would see some of the UK products eventually here domestically.

He said there is no crossover and they're handled completely independent of one another. I said, "Will we get the Scalextric electric racing set" and he said no.

Slot cars? I used to LOVE slot cars.

This could be very cool. And very bad. I have no room for a slot car set.

I think I was on that tour with you. I remember someone asking that question, while I was drooling over the Sector-7 marketing books. Considering how many US dealers show up on their US website search, I'd have to think it will be coming out here as well. I've never heard of Scalextrix before. I get the impression their merchandise is sold mostly in hobby-shops. Has anyone seen this stuff for sale at like Target or Radio-Shak?

It's not a full size set as such. I believe the cars are something like 1/64th scale, so you should be alright. The cars themselves are really nicely done, made out of a high quality plastic. Lucky really, as they spend quite a lot of time hitting each other.

I'd still like to be able to get the cars seperately. I already have a slot car track (Tomy, no less) The last thing I need is more track pieces that aren't even compatible with my existing track.

Cool, another TF Slot Car set. Back in the good old days of the 80's, they made one. I still have it. It was 2 Mustangs that transformed and glew in the dark. A blue one, and a red one. Loved that set.

I could never get the cars up to enough speed to do a loop though.
