Cinefex :: Visual Effects Magazine :: Special Effects :: Computer Graphics

Cinefex is a magazine that discusses the behind the scenes / visual effects creation in film & television. I myself have a pretty good collection.

In the next issue they will be showcasing ROTF, and on the cover is a picture of Jetfire's face.

Start hitting your bookstore (Borders, Barnes and Noble) magazine racks. They'll probably hit any day now.

The other movies in this issue is GI Joe, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, District 9 and G-Force.

Gives you a great look at how jaw-droppingly realistic they made the TFs. I thought Jetfire was one of the more excellent pieces of CGI work in the movie.

...too bad TF will never get the Oscar it deserves for VFX work. :(

Nice shot of Jetfire's face. Really shows some emotion.

Holy shit, all the details on JETFIRE's face, the place-holder parts, rude repairs...

Now I know why animating those is so damned expensive.

While the first was really robbed of its Oscar, this will never win because the critics despise this movie in general. It's unfortunate, because even though I do dislike some things about ROTF, the effects were 110% superb, just as the first. Jetfire and Devastator were the definite standouts in the movie.

That pic made me feel something.

The digital editors did a fine no great job. I felt emotion from that picture.

The plot may not have been oscar -worthy, but the effects are damn sure worth it.

    Awesome!

I'll try and see about going to Borders to see if I can't pick up this magazine just for the ROTF article alone.

That render doesn't do it for me. Sure, you can see all the extra detailing, but it just doesn't look real. I put a lot of that down to the materials and lighting, and the design doesn't exactly help either.
