Always a bit sad to see the end of an era in the history of the franchise.

Welcome the new, but remember the old.

    Totally new series.

This is the end of the aligned continuity.

    I thought RID was a sequel, not a spin-off

I'm still waiting for Shout Factory to release season 2 on dvd and/or blu-ray.... They seem too busy releasing little 5 random episode "themed" dvd sets to care about full season sets...

Dang, I’ve been following this show since it started over two years ago. Fallen behind recently because Teletoon has just stopped airing new episodes after Exiles, but I’m glad this show went as far as it did. Was it perfect? Heck no but it had a dedicated production crew and wonderful voice cast, and it definitely left its mark on the Transformers franchise, for better or worse. Here’s hoping Cyberverse doesn’t disappoint.

I never really liked the show, but it's crazy to think this is it, the end of Aligned as far as we know. After all the drama and mistakes and this and that.

I feel like that introduction quoted above pretty much describes EVERY TF program ever - i.e. it reads like generic marketing HOO HAH!

It'd be nice if some of those blurbs hinted at some real drama/story to get you interested. Instead of "a brand new TF show that will revolutionize blah blah blah", try something like, "We're going to see how Megatron became what he is, and what terrible choices he made to become leader of the Decepticons". :)  Or, "you know Optimus is the leader, but we're going to show you the sacrifices and people he left behind to become what he is. What part of himself did he abandon, and where are those bots he left behind now?"

If these marketing blurbs can't find any real intrigue, the shows ultimately seem to fall into a trap of generic tropes and futile attempts to rise above their own mediocrity.

"Bumblebee has always quietly followed along, but what happens when the Autobots are suddenly left in his care? Is he ready to handle the responsibilities of a Prime or does his inexperience ultimately cost the team dearly? A new arch-villain, Steeljaw, will make things even more difficult for the young Autobot leader. Steeljaw will stop at nothing to command a new Decepticon army, and Decepticon and Autobot alike must be wary of his deadly claws! Robot lobsters, killer Sharkticons, and radical iguana speedsters: the Autobots will have their hands full in this brand new Transformers series!"

Precisely! Well... As long as there are enough people who keep rewarding them for that approach... The infinite storytelling and creative potential of the concept of Transformers remains untapped and the brand might make money, but, remains without respect.

G1 was not a Bumblebee circlejerk. And folks... series finales don't have to be sad. Better to end on a high note.. or as close to it as this show can get, than drag on to the point of becoming boring. And as long as the final episode succeeds in either tying up loose ends, bringing the story to a close, or sowing the seeds for the next installment of the franchise, then it's not all bad.
